When God puts us somewhere in His service, He puts us there to meet a need.
Every church member has responsibilities towards that church. Each person should give to the church (well....to God) and each person should be giving through the church.
A church should have a generous spirit. The idea of giving should thrill and motivate us.
I. The description of David’s giving.
I. The description of David’s giving.
Good is looking for Davids in each church. He is looking for people who will rejoice when they have an opportunity to give.

Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,
David was giving over and beyond what he had already given.
His desire was that God would use him as much as possible.
He viewed his contribution and thought, “Lord, can’t I do more?”
What would happen if each believer said, “Lord, may I do more? Could you use ME more?” That would transform our churches!

Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the Lord: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.
,
I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.
The word “affection” means “to be pleased with” or even “to satisfy a debt” - two ways to take it.
And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.
I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.
2 Corinthians 8.

Let’s not wait for others to do it! Let’s be their inspiration ourselves.

O Lord our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name cometh of thine hand, and is all thine own.
