3 By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
4 And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
2 Peter 1:3-4

8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
9 By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise.
10 For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.

Scripture says I am to respond to His promises, by adding knowledge.
1 Large crowds followed Jesus as he came down the mountainside.
2 Suddenly, a man with leprosy approached him and knelt before him. “Lord,” the man said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.”
What does the leper know that he knows? YOU CAN HEAL ME AND MAKE ME CLEAN.
What does he think he knows? He is in the right place at the right time. (If he isn’t, he is in big trouble.) (explain)
What does he need to know? HE NEEDS TO KNOW IF JESUS IS WILLING.
Where did he go to get What He Needed to Know?
Where did he go to get What He Needed to Know?
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

3 Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared.
Matthew 8:
When What He Needs to know, becomes what He knows that he knows. Fade in.......And Instantly.....
(Phillips NT)
41 Jesus was filled with pity for him, and stretched out his hand and placed it on the leper, saying, "Of course I want to - be clean!"
Great for the former Leper, but what about us?

13 And to the centurion Jesus said, “Go; let it be done for you as you have believed.” And the servant was healed at that very moment.
Matthew 8:13
14 And when Jesus entered Peter’s house, he saw his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever.
15 He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose and began to serve him.
16 That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick.
17 This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: “He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.”

Now I
Now when I am getting ready to minister to someone, What I think I know, goes into the What I know Pile.
Now the Third Step:
Getting what I need to know into the What I know Pile, So I can respond to his promises.
Getting what I need to know into the What I know Pile, So I can respond to his promises.
8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
Hebrews 11:8
OBEYED?
God said go, and leave your relatives. Abram said Okay, but I am taking my nephew.
God lead Abram to the place he was to be. Abram said great, and then moved to Egypt.
Remember this one.
11 When he was about to enter Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife, “I know that you are a woman beautiful in appearance,
12 and when the Egyptians see you, they will say, ‘This is his wife.’ Then they will kill me, but they will let you live.
13 Say you are my sister, that it may go well with me because of you, and that my life may be spared for your sake.”
Gen 12:11-13
Several Times, Abram had to be reminded of God’s plan.
But Yet,
8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
Reads like Someone took a big eraser and got rid of all the lapses in integrity.
Aren’t you glad He does?
Reads like Someone took a big eraser.
There is a promise out there. Abram is lined up, but. Sarah.
11 By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised.
From verse 8 to verse 11 was 25 years.
And
It Had Nothing to do with God’s Timing.
Review:
Gen 18:10-
10 The Lord said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife shall have a son.” And Sarah was listening at the tent door behind him.
11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in years. The way of women had ceased to be with Sarah.
NOW, IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH GOD’S TIMING. God has released a time line. His word is always true. It is time to resolve whatever is stopping the work of God int their lives.
12 So she laughed silently to herself and said, “How could a worn-out woman like me enjoy such pleasure, especially when my master—my husband—is also so old?”
What Does Sarah think she knows? She Thinks She is a worn out old Woman. She Thinks They have given up sex. She thinks the old man is out to pasture also.
Laugh: Read: Was she laughing in merriment or scorn? The answer is found in Verse 13
Gen 18:12
13 Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, ‘Can an old woman like me have a baby?’
The Lord does not ask questions because He needs to find something out. He asks questioned because we need to find something out.
14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”
Genesis 18:14
15 But Sarah denied it, saying, “I did not laugh,” for she was afraid. He said, “No, but you did laugh.”
Genesis 18:15
Something happens from verse 15 to
11 By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised.
Review:
Gen 12:10-
10 Now there was a famine in the land. So Abram went down to Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine was severe in the land.
11 When he was about to enter Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife, “I know that you are a woman beautiful in appearance,
Gen 12:12
12 and when the Egyptians see you, they will say, ‘This is his wife.’ Then they will kill me, but they will let you live.
13 Say you are my sister, that it may go well with me because of you, and that my life may be spared for your sake.”
What She Heard:
Tell them you are my sister. They may take you away from me. I may never see you again. You may have to sleep with the Pharoah. Don’t worry. You can’t get pregnant anyway. ALL OF THIS IS YOUR FAULT ANYWAY. You are the one who is barren.
God delivers them. They go on their way They have enough promises from God to wallpaper their tent.
But now they go into a 24 year WAIT. God shows up. God shows off. God reminds them of His promises, But no baby.
1 Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. She had a female Egyptian servant whose name was Hagar.
Gen 16:1
Egyptian Slave (Stranger)
Gen 16:2
2 And Sarai said to Abram, “Behold now, the Lord has prevented me from bearing children. Go in to my servant; it may be that I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.
Tells us they have stopped having sex. The dream has died. So God steps in.
1 From there Abraham journeyed toward the territory of the Negeb and lived between Kadesh and Shur; and he sojourned in Gerar.
2 And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, “She is my sister.” And Abimelech king of Gerar sent and took Sarah.
3 But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night and said to him, “Behold, you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is a man’s wife.”
4 Now Abimelech had not approached her. So he said, “Lord, will you kill an innocent people?
5 Did he not himself say to me, ‘She is my sister’? And she herself said, ‘He is my brother.’ In the integrity of my heart and the innocence of my hands I have done this.”
6 Then God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know that you have done this in the integrity of your heart, and it was I who kept you from sinning against me. Therefore I did not let you touch her.
7 Now then, return the man’s wife, for he is a prophet, so that he will pray for you, and you shall live. But if you do not return her, know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours.”
8 So Abimelech rose early in the morning and called all his servants and told them all these things. And the men were very much afraid.
9 Then Abimelech called Abraham and said to him, “What have you done to us? And how have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and my kingdom a great sin? You have done to me things that ought not to be done.”
10 And Abimelech said to Abraham, “What did you see, that you did this thing?”
11 Abraham said, “I did it because I thought, ‘There is no fear of God at all in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.’
12 Besides, she is indeed my sister, the daughter of my father though not the daughter of my mother, and she became my wife.
13 And when God caused me to wander from my father’s house, I said to her, ‘This is the kindness you must do me: at every place to which we come, say of me, “He is my brother.” ’ ”
14 Then Abimelech took sheep and oxen, and male servants and female servants, and gave them to Abraham, and returned Sarah his wife to him.
15 And Abimelech said, “Behold, my land is before you; dwell where it pleases you.”
Gen 20:7-
Gen 20:16
16 To Sarah he said, “Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver. It is a sign of your innocence in the eyes of all who are with you, and before everyone you are vindicated.”
16 And to Sarah he said, Behold, I have given this brother of yours a thousand pieces of silver; see, it is to compensate you [for all that has occurred] and to vindicate your honor before all who are with you; before all men you are cleared and compensated.
16 To Sarah he said, “Here, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver. That will allay the suspicions of everyone who is with you. Before everyone you are cleared.”
1 The Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did to Sarah as he had promised.
Gen 21:
2 And Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age at the time of which God had spoken to him.
