Being a mother is difficult!
No single other person holds as much influence in a child's life as their mother does.
There are 3 types of mothers: the unsaved mother; the saved but carnal mother; and the saved and spiritually minded mother.
Today I would like to quickly discuss 7 ways a godly mother can leave a heritage of faith.
Then we will look to Paul’s 16th chapter of Romans to see this heritage of faith in action.

Prayer
God our Father in heaven we thank you for our mothers here on earth.
We thank you for their love, their support, and their guidance.
God some of us do not have great relationships with our mothers, yet even for that we praise you that while humans are frail and fail-able you are not.
Even in the face of our mothers victories and shortcomings you use them to help us to learn to lean on you in all that we do.
For all the mothers represented here we gather to pray that if any are unsaved, that you might reveal yourself to them and woe them to your side.
For all the mothers represented here today who believe but are walking in carnality we pray for their correction and deliverance.
And for all the mothers represented here today that are faithfully walking with you we pray for your protection and provision for them.
Father as we look to your word we now ask that you might teach those here today who are mothers, who were mothers, and those that will be

John Stott…
‘I think’, wrote Chrysostom, ‘that many even of those who have the appearance of being extremely good men, hasten over this part of the epistle as superfluous … Yet’, he went on, ‘the gold founders’ people are careful even about the little fragments … it is possible even from bare names to find a great treasure.’
Brunner went further and called Romans 16 ‘one of the most instructive chapters of the New Testament’, because it encourages personal relationships of love in the church.
