As we begin this new year most people have aspirations that 2008 will be different and better for them.
They have been considering this is the year they may change careers, get married, or purchase a new house or car.
In all these areas there is a certain amount of risk taking.
We realize there can be both negative and positive results, so we try to calculate the risk factor and play it as safe as we can because we’re never sure of the outcome of our decisions.
The most important decision we will make this year is what we will do with Christ.
Authentic disciples consider what life will be like this year in total submission to God’s will for their lives.
The tendency will be to think they can play it safe and avoid any serious difficulties that may come in following Christ.
If you have never surrendered your life to Christ, you may believe that playing it safe is becoming more religious and forsaking some of your bad habits.
Whether you are a Christian or not, playing it safe this year is the decision to waste your life!
Let’s consider this morning how to take risks because it is a myth to believe that we can play it safe.
*Risking your life to please God is evidence of obedience!*

*Acts 20:24*
*“But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God.”*
                                                                        /Apostle Paul/
