-This woman was a sinner, yet she realized that she needed Jesus.
-If we want to truly reach this world, we must stop offering condemnation, but offer them a way out of the turmoil of their sin-filled life.
She Poured Out Her Old Life
-History tells us that this woman was a prostitute. The alabaster box would have been a small globe tied around her neck that had perfume in it. This perfume was used to hide the smell of flesh that came as a result of her sinful way of life.
-The woman poured out everything she knew, she was fully trusting in Jesus. She was leaving the old life behind.
We Must Pour Out Ourselves
-As she washed His feet, she stood behind Him. She maintained a position of humility. If we want to worship God, we must do it from a position of humility.
-Just as this woman poured out the remnant of her old life, we must do the same to ours.
-Pour out the shame and the guilt. Pour it out on Jesus.
