Introduction: Jude abruptly ends his letter, undoubtedly having much more to say on this issue; however, he suffices to commend them to the care of an almighty God, whom he glorifies in his doxology.
Established God (1:24)
Protection (1:24) - “24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you…”
“My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.” - (HCSB)
“Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in you.”- (HCSB)
“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity. God is faithful and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation He will also provide a way of escape, so that you are able to bear it.” - (HCSB)
“But the Lord is faithful, He will strengthen and guard you from the evil one.” - (HCSB)
Presentation (1:24) - “and to make you stand in the presence of His glory.”
“Knowing that the One who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus, and present us with you.” - (HCSB)
“Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of Me. 12 Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets before you.” - (HCSB)
“For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory and that of the Father and the holy angels.” - (HCSB)
Exalted God (1:25a)
Through our Salvation (1:25a) - “to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord,”
“Our Lord is great, vast in power; His understanding is infinite.” - (HCSB)
“Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen. - (KJV)
Through His Superiority (1:25a) - “be glory, majesty, power, and authority…”
Glory (doxa) - “And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” -
Majesty (meg-al-o-soo-nay) - “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.” -
Dominion (krat-os) - “And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.” -
Eternal God (1:25b)
Past (1:25c) - “before all time,”
Present (1:25c) - “now”
Perpetuity (1:25c) - “and forever, Amen.”
