right who are not to be manipulated, exploited, or crushed

Children get under the authority God has placed over you.

What is required to “obey your parents in the Lord”? The Greek word translated “obey” is very helpful because it comes from two words, under and to listen — so that it literally means to listen under. Obedience involves conscious listening. If you do not really listen, you cannot really obey. That is why parents are always saying, “Listen to me!” The idea is to listen under with the intent to understand and do it.
When Jesus gave us a parabolic picture of the gospel, He illustrated the desperate wickedness of human sin by portraying a son, a "prodigal son," who forsakes his living father and goes into a far country to spend his prematurely gained inheritance.
Ephesians 6:1–3 ESV
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), 3 “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”

When you submit to your parents you submit to the Lord.

When you submit to your parents you submit to the Lord.
Ephesians 6:1 ESV
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

When you reject your parents’ authority you reject the Lord.

Rebellion against parental authority is rebellion against the Lord.

God promises to bless those who lived under His authority.

Ephesians 6:2–3 ESV
2 “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), 3 “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”
