When Jesus saves you, He commissions you.
How?
On the cross Jesus shed blood and died to atone for our sin.Through the resurrection Jesus conquered sin, death, and Satan.
The command that follows from Jesus for His followers is twofold:
Go (& tell)Make (multiply)
Making disciples is God’s plan to reach the world with the gospel.
God’s plan isn’t to exclude us from His great story, but for us to be main vehicle which He uses.
16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Pray

Therefore, Jesus possess or is the essence of worthiness. It’s what we were created to behold and love.

Therefore, Jesus in all authority in heaven and on earth, commissions Christians.
II. Go
II. Go
Christians are not called to be stagnant, but active. Jesus did have save you to keep Him to ourselves, but to proclaim Him to everyone else.
Jesus’ original hearers understood that, in giving the Great Commission, Jesus was making a paradigm shift in regard to missions.
The Old Testament depicts a clear God-given vision—that the nations would come to Jerusalem to worship with the one, true God. It was a very centripetal mission—from the edges (the nations) to the center (the temple in Jerusalem; e.g., ). Jesus is explaining that now His people need to go out and that He will go with them (compare ).1
Jesus literally is commanding His followers to move so that the gospel can spread to all the nations. Jesus is putting into motion or “mobilizing” His plan for all the nations to hear the gospel of Jesus.

Jesus doesn’t need us. We know that by 28:18, “All authority has been given to Me.” Jesus doesn’t need us to make Him famous, but he chooses to use us to make Him famous.
Jesus isn’t just commanding individuals to go for the sake of Jesus, but in the book of Acts we see that it’s one of the main reasons the local church was created; to point the world to Jesus. It’s through the church Christians make disciples.
The church is the people of God continuing and spreading the story of God.
III. Make disciples
III. Make disciples
Christ followers are called to multiply.
This takes time. This takes investment in others.
Young people aren’t exempt from making disciples.
Our priorities aren’t right if making disciples of Jesus are not one of them.
Q - Who is someone who you have invested in for the sake of Jesus?
>> ___________ is lost and I am going to model Jesus for them<<
REALITY >> We will not make disciples (aka live on mission) if we are not active or taking initiative in our walk with Christ.
Q - How can you be passionate about the lost people around you if you aren’t passionate about Jesus yourself?
Conclusion
The best thing for the Christian is the reality of Jesus’ words in your life,
Matthew 28:2
20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Jesus. Is. With. You.
We will not be obedient to Jesus’ call on our lives if Jesus does not have authority over our life. The disciples saw the resurrected Jesus and worshipped.
>> But some doubted.
Two kinds of people:
Worshippers - Jesus was LORD and worthy of all.
Doubters - Jesus was not out what everyone said.
Q - Which one are you?
When you really see Jesus, He is worthy to have your life. You freely give it.
As a result, you want others to know and enjoy the life you possess with Jesus.
Christians have the gospel. Christians are commanded to give away the gospel to others.
Flat-bills as lost people
When we take the gospel seriously in our own lives is when we take seriously taking the gospel to others.
Application
Application
Pick one. Invest in a long period of time in one. To win one to Jesus. To teach and disciple one in Christ. So that one will do the same. Then pick another.
When Jesus saves you, He commissions you.
Christians weren’t saved to sit but to be sent.
Jesus sends/commissions you to reach and disciple those who don’t know Jesus.
