For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Every once in a while you get a notification on your phone that really catches your attention...

I got one recently.

The Apple News headline reads as follows: “Mississippi Community Left Confused After Bowls of Mashed Potatoes Mysteriously Keep Appearing”

So at this point, I’m thinking, I have no choice but to read this article in its entirety!

And what I read was quite shocking...

In the Belhaven neighborhood of Jackson, Mississippi, there is something very strange that is going on...

The residents in this area are mystified as bowls of mashed potatoes suddenly have been appearing on their cars, their porches, and even their mailboxes.

Now - no one has reported eating, getting sick, or dying from these mashed potatoes.

And law enforcement is all over the place investigating each appearance, trying to sort it out and somehow make sense of it.

...

But - in the middle of this ludicrous, goofy story, something shocking happened in this town...

While all the police were scattered throughout the county, investigating this thing... somebody (possibly a person who recently cooked a ton of mashed potatoes)… walked right into a local bank and robbed them of every last cash dollar.

And they had enough time to get it all, because the police were so scattered and so consumed with mashed potatoes that by the time they got to the bank, the crook was long gone...

It appears that the potatoes... were simply a diversion.

And tragically, that TREASURE, if you will, that was being kept within the bank, was allowed to drift away.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have our own TREASURE today:

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

The TREASURE that God gives is still the Holy Ghost!!!

I wonder if there are some students in this house who have that treasure??? Maybe a few adults?

This TREASURE is the ANSWER TO OUR WORLD!

And all the while Satan has entered the First Bank of Your Relationship With God, and he is emptying your account of Anointing, Joy, Your Family, Your Peace, and Holy Ghost Power...

I don’t know exactly how that sits with you today - but I’ll just tell you how it makes ME feel:

It’s time to RENEW this treasure in myself!!!

And not only that - it’s time to get this treasure out into the whole world!!!

You can be the reason a missionary reaches an entire tribe or community!

You can be the reason a troubled young man finds hope and a home through Tupelo Children’s mansion!

If you want to be used of God, whether you can sing or not, preach or not, Sheaves For Christ is how you can step into a ministry!!!

I ask you: What’s your TREASURE?

Before this service is over, we’re going to see His glory fall, we’re going to make a commitment to a sacrificial offering this year, and as a result, God is going to pour out of His Spirit in a very powerful way!

But we have to commit to what the real TREASURE is!

Our TREASURE is the Kingdom, and the power of the Holy Ghost!

And I’m not about to let it pass away in the middle of my life and daily routine!

It’s time to make REVIVAL the ROUTINE!!!
