My friends, thank you for coming and supporting and blessing this family with your presence.
One of the great mysterious of life is that we never know how long we are going to be here for.... Each year passes and we never think we will gather because of this death or that one...
We never know how long we are going to be here for.... Each year passes and we never think we will gather because of this death or that one...
Yet it happens, our lives are as Job said, our days are few and full of trouble.
It is sad, we hate death and we hate the devil as well.
But boy I tell you, We love Jesus all the more… We love Jesus because He is faithful and will keep us to the end.
And He has kept Jenny, and she has had the most wonderful experience, She has seen Jesus.. just like they did the morning of the resurrection, she has seen him in all of his glory in heaven. Wow.
For the past 16 years I have had the joy of being her Pastor, and I have seen good days and bad along the way.
I can remember knee replacements, and fractures, lots of physical problems as the years passed. She enjoyed coming to church and when she couldn’t she was sure to watch Charles Stanley and David Jeremiah. She loved the Lord and hated not being able to come to church.
I can remember lots and lots of laughter and heart ache when Granny Hamilton, Jimmy and Katherine went home to be with Jesus.
And she knew everything that was happening around here, and If I had missed something she would tell me…
One of the best things I can tell you is about her faithfulness. She was faithful to her church, I cannot tell you all she has done through the years, but I know this, she was faithful!
I also know this... she loved you… .Even her in the last few weeks she got to hold Boone, the newest member of the family and she was so happy. She loved her family, near and far..
And I am thankful in that this past Monday Marci and I came over and we prayed with her and she squeezed my hand as I talked with her and prayed with her.
Jenny has taken care of so many children and yes, ole Johnny. She took care of many, that was part of her calling… she loved and nurtured, cared for and helped so many through the years...
What a blessing… What a legacy she has left for those around her to remember.
I’ve seen her at many different times and I can tell you many things but the best thing I can tell you is this… Jenny knew Jesus.
But the best thing I can tell you is this… Jenny knew Jesus.
And knowing Jesus is the best....
We’ve just celebrated Easter a few weeks ago, and how powerful is it for us to remember the things Jesus reminded His disciples of the night before His crucifixion...
Let me remind you what He said… John 14
1 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.” 5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
I hold these verses close to my heart and so should you… It reminds us that God’s plan was in the process and it was for our good, for our best.
The disciples were men who were like us, weak at times, fallible, prone to mistakes and sin.. worry....
And what does Jesus say to them…
Don’t worry or be troubled, disturbed in your heart. And just as you have believed in God the Father, continue to believe in me…
Jesus knows what they do not, the cross will change everything and when it does, they needed to be aware, all they had hoped and trusted in… it hadn’t changed, it was being fulfilled in Jesus.
When our life changes, when we see people we love leave this world… we can be assured that all we have anchored our faith in, it hasn’t changed. Jesus is the same!!
And Jesus gives them to points to hang their hat on....
The Father house has many rooms. The size is large enough. plentiful if you will…
Have you ever entered a place and thought, man this place is incredible… there is no end in sight… Yes, I worked for a place once that had 7 miles of hall ways. And yet while that sounds huge, it is tiny in comparison to the Father’s house.
The Father’s house is full of rooms, mansions for us. None who believe in Jesus will be without… there is a place for us.
I’m going to prepare a place for you..
2. I’m going to prepare a place for you..
I am finishing the work the Father has sent me into the world for, and it will change the world and it will change you.
Jenny like so many of us, she invited Jesus into her heart and she was never the same… How do I know that… Her testimony, your words about her… and His work in her life.
Jenny like so many of us, she invited Jesus into her heart and she was never the same… How do I know that… Her testimony, your words about her… and His work in her life.
if any person is in Christ they are a new creation, the old has gone and the new has come…
What Jesus did on the cross completed the Father’s mission, he atoned for the sin of humanity and redeemed us from sin. And because of that, where Jesus is we will be there also...
How wonderful my friends, how wonderful...
Why is all of this possible...
Jesus says I am the way, the truth and the life, No man comes to the Father except by me.
Jenny placed her trust in Jesus a long time ago, but Wednesday night, it was completely realized as she entered into his presence and suddenly. She was well, whole and perfect.
Wow!
Jesus did all of this because He loved us.. and that love is evident in our lives.
Jenny is home, at rest, well, whole and in the presence of Jesus. He is the way, the truth and the life…
Jenny followed His ways, believed in the Truth of Jesus and found complete life in Him
Jesus said I have come that you might have life and have it to the fullest.
Praise God because He lives… We live..
