1. Past (v1)

1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

39 높음이나 깊음이나 다른 어떤 피조물이라도 우리를 우리 주 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 하나님의 사랑에서 끊을 수 없으리라 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

본문말씀

3 율법이 육신으로 말미암아 연약하여 할 수 없는 그것을 하나님은 하시나니 곧 죄로 말미암아 자기 아들을 죄 있는 육신의 모양으로 보내어 육신에 죄를 정하사 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh,

4 육신을 따르지 않고 그 영을 따라 행하는 우리에게 율법의 요구가 이루어지게 하려 하심이니라 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

5 육신을 따르는 자는 육신의 일을, 영을 따르는 자는 영의 일을 생각하나니 5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

6 육신의 생각은 사망이요 영의 생각은 생명과 평안이니라 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

7 육신의 생각은 하나님과 원수가 되나니 이는 하나님의 법에 굴복하지 아니할 뿐 아니라 할 수도 없음이라 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.

8 육신에 있는 자들은 하나님을 기쁘시게 할 수 없느니라 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.

9 만일 너희 속에 하나님의 영이 거하시면 너희가 육신에 있지 아니하고 영에 있나니 누구든지 그리스도의 영이 없으면 그리스도의 사람이 아니라 9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.

10 또 그리스도께서 너희 안에 계시면 몸은 죄로 말미암아 죽은 것이나 영은 의로 말미암아 살아 있는 것이니라 10 But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness.

11 예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이의 영이 너희 안에 거하시면 그리스도 예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이가 너희 안에 거하시는 그의 영으로 말미암아 너희 죽을 몸도 살리시리라 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.

8 그가 와서 죄에 대하여, 의에 대하여, 심판에 대하여 세상을 책망하시리라 8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment:

9 죄에 대하여라 함은 그들이 나를 믿지 아니함이요 9 about sin, because people do not believe in me;

10 의에 대하여라 함은 내가 아버지께로 가니 너희가 다시 나를 보지 못함이요 10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer;

11 심판에 대하여라 함은 이 세상 임금이 심판을 받았음이라 11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.

5 육신을 따르는 자는 육신의 일을, 영을 따르는 자는 영의 일을 생각하나니

5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

6 육신의 생각은 사망이요 영의 생각은 생명과 평안이니라

6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

4. 육신의 생각은 어떤 것일까?

19 육체의 일은 분명하니 곧 음행과 더러운 것과 호색과 19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;

20 우상 숭배와 주술과 원수 맺는 것과 분쟁과 시기와 분냄과 당 짓는 것과 분열함과 이단과 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions

21 투기와 술 취함과 방탕함과 또 그와 같은 것들이라 전에 너희에게 경계한 것 같이 경계하노니

이런 일을 하는 자들은 하나님의 나라를 유업으로 받지 못할 것이요 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

9 전도자는 지혜자이어서 여전히 백성에게 지식을 가르쳤고 또 깊이 생각하고 연구하여 잠언을 많이 지었으며 9 Not only was the Teacher wise, but he also imparted knowledge to the people. He pondered and searched out and set in order many proverbs.

10 전도자는 힘써 아름다운 말들을 구하였나니 진리의 말씀들을 정직하게 기록하였느니라 10 The Teacher searched to find just the right words, and what he wrote was upright and true.

11 지혜자들의 말씀들은 찌르는 채찍들 같고 회중의 스승들의 말씀들은 잘 박힌 못 같으니 다 한 목자가 주신 바이니라 11 The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails—given by one shepherd.

12 내 아들아 또 이것들로부터 경계를 받으라 많은 책들을 짓는 것은 끝이 없고 많이 공부하는 것은 몸을 피곤하게 하느니라 12 Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.

13 일의 결국을 다 들었으니 하나님을 경외하고 그의 명령들을 지킬지어다 이것이 모든 사람의 본분이니라

13 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.
