God forgave us through His Son Jesus Christ when we did not know what we were doing. His forgiveness was sacrificial it came with the price of death.

Gift to others

Gift to others
Matthew 6:14-15
Matthew 6:14–15 NIV
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Forgiveness is a gift we give to others. Because God has forgiven us we are called to forgive others.
Matthew 5:22–23 NIV
22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister, will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell. 23 “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you,
Matthew 5:22-23
Matthew 5:
Matthew 5:25 NASB95
25 “Make friends quickly with your opponent at law while you are with him on the way, so that your opponent may not hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.
Matthew 5:24
Matthew 5:24 NIV
24 leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.
Chapter five of Matthew is the beatitude. I believe that it tells us the type of attitude that we should always be in. V23 tells us that if we are coming to the alter in church and we remember that someone has something against us we have to go and make up. Jesus forgiveness was sacrificial, and we have to do the same, we have to die to our selves, be humble and forgive others.
If cant get to the person you need to forgive you can pretend you are talking to them by using a chair, and ask them to forgive you.
.
Colossians 3:12–13 NIV
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
Colossians 3:12-13

A gift to yourself

Matthew 6:14–15 NIV
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Matthew 6:14-15
You give a gift to yourself because yoou allow God to bless you so you can be a blessing to others. You forfeit your peace, joy, love and blessings when we refuse to forgive others. Many people are living in mental anguish and physical illness because they are living in a spirit of un-forgiveness.
Conclusion: It can only send you to hell, forgive and you will be at peace with God, others and yourself. At the cross Jesus said it is finish when He forgave us. You can finish it in Heaven or Hell the choice is yours.
