This Is What We Do...

Let’s take a look at a day in the life of a Christian…Harry.
I can’t identify with a female…sorry...
So Harry starts his day…he wakes up, stretches, scratches his…chest and says Praise GOD for this amazing day…rain or shine.
He gets ready for his day. He gets cleaned up, he gets dressed, say grace, has something to drink, maybe coffee, maybe juice, and eats. He reads scripture while he has breakfast, about 15 minutes.

Then, Harry goes to work. He goes outside, starts his car…it is sluggish to star (it’s chilly out), but does start. Harry thanks GOD that his car started and thinks that he needs to get that checked later.
He gets going. The traffic is a little heavy, but it’s moving. He has a long way to drive and it’s raining. He left a little early, but it’s gonna be tight to get there on time. He prays his morning prayer for his family, his friends, and extended family.

He gets to work on time and says PRAISE GOD!!!
His work family is a bit tense, most are non believers, a couple are in a denominational belief system. He prays at his desk for peace and hope for a good day and thanks GOD for this job that allows him to do for the kingdom and for his work family, and for peace and hope. His “good morning” gets smiles and a couple of “mornings” back. He says “it's a great day to be alive!!!” Someone says why? Knowing that sometimes he is not received well professing his Christianity, he says “we're all blessed with jobs, homes, families, and that the ability to pay bills.
The response is a look of he’s the Christian…someone says “yea”… Harry smiles and goes to his desk.

He has folks near to his desk. He plays Christian music so he can hear it as he works. Someone hears a song they know and they ask Harry to turn it up a little so they can sing to it.
<<EXPAND>> There are some songs from a few artists, that play on secular radio stations or satellite stations. Lauren Daigle, Danny Gokey; Carrie Underwood made a song called “JESUS, take the wheel”, and Hillary Scott wrote “Thy Will”, which is part of an album of hymns she made. She is the singer from the group Lady Antebellum, a secular country group. Elvis Presley made a hymn album also.
BTW, Snoop Dogg told his Mom, a pastor, that he will make a Christian album.
As the day goes on, Harry has an infectious smile and countenance that lift folks up. People are smiling, joking around a little bit here and there.

Harry goes to a lunch room and sits with a few folks. Harry says grace, a few folks wait until he is done to eat. Someone tells a joke that is colorfully said and about someone who gets distressed ,hurt, and laughed at because their mistake. Harry looks down and doesn’t react. The joker asks Harry his opinion and Harry says “It’s not a joke he would say”. The woman laughs and said that she embarrassed Harry…a couple of folks giggle, one says that it wasn’t an appropriate joke. Harry smiles and says thanks for the defense, and they all finish their lunch.

Later, that same woman comes and apologizes and asks why it bothered him. Harry said “AS a lover of JESUS CHRIST, he loves all people and feels sad for others that get hurt or made fun of and are defenseless, as JESUS does.”. She apologizes and walks away.
Harry is leaving work and someone asks what he’s doing tonight and he says he’s going to church tonight…it’s soup and sandwich night, if anyone wants to come. The woman who said the joke walked over to him and asked for the address to the church. He gave it to her and said “I hope to see you there. GOD Bless you and be safe going home”. Harry gets to his car and says “thank you GOD for being used to plant the seed for the kingdom…your will, not mine Father”. His car starts fine; he, goes home, tightens the battery leads when he gets home, changes his clothes, and goes to church.

She doesn’t go this week, but goes Sunday.
We have an awesome life. I hope it’s a little like Harrys.
Philippians 4:4-7... Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to GOD. And the peace of GOD, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in CHRIST JESUS.
We have a life of stuff that happens, good an bad…and we have a Savior that died and came back so we have hope in HIM. WE have the Holy Spirit who guides us, clarifies for us, is that voice in our ear when we are tempted, gives us a feeling of weirdness when we hear something or see something that is not of JESUS. HE also teaches us to be more righteous without being obnoxious.
<<EXPAND>>
Philippians 4:8...Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
Lets’ pray...
After the closing song...
WE need to learn to walk more victoriously in JESUS. Proverbs 3:5-7...Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge HIM, And HE will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
Pray out...
