Human-been are res-ponders and initiator. Many times we have boundaries problems because we lack initiative… the God given ability to propel our self into life we respond to invitation and push our self into life.
The best boundaries are formed when a child is pushing against the world naturally and the outside world sets it limits on the child .
In this way the aggressive child learns limits with out loosing his our her spirit
Consider the contrast of the parable of the servant who were responsible for investing their masters gold.
Matthew 25:14 ESV
14 “For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property.
Matthew 25:14–18 ESV
14 “For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. 15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. 16 He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. 17 So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. 18 But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money.
The ones who succeed were active and assertive, they initiated and pushed
The one who lost out was inactive and passive. The sad thing is that many people who are passive are not inherently evil or bad people. But evil is an active force and passivity can become an ally of evil by not pushing against it.
Passivity never pays off.
God will mach our effort but he will never do our work for use.
That would be invasion of our boundary. He wains us to be assertive and active seeking and knocking on the door of life.
we know that God is not mean to people who are afraid.
The scripture is full of him compassion BUT
He will not unable passivity, the wicked and lazy servant was passive, he did not try !
Gods grace covers failure but it can not make up for passivity.
We need to do our part.
The sin God rebuke is not trying and failing but failing to try. Trying failing and trying again, is called learning.
Failing to try will have no good result evil will triumph. God expresses his opinion toward passivity in ...
.
Hebrews 10:38
Hebrews 10:38–39 ESV
38 but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” 39 But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.
Passive shrinking back is intolerable to God And when we understand how destructive it is to our soul, we can see why God does not tolerate it
God wants us to preserve our souls.
That is the role of Boundaries. They define and preserve our property our soul
I have been told when a baby bird is ready to rash, if you break the egg for the bird, if you help the bird, it will die.
The bird must peck its own way out of the egg into the world. This aggressive work out strengthens the bird allowing it to function in the outside world. robe of this responsibility and it will die.
This is also the way God maid us.
If he hatches us does our works for us, invaids our boundaries we will die.
We must not shrink Back passively. Our boundaries can only be created by our being active and aggressively By our knocking, seeking and asking
Matthew 7:7–8 ESV
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
