1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen. 2 And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. 3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. 4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full. 5 So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. 6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed. 7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.
2 Kings 4:1-7
They say the closest thing to the love of God is the love of a mother
The way a mother loves her children
My mother would cook a meal and sit down and watch her family eat
I've watched her sit down and eat what was left ( Chicken Neck )
I've watched her wear ragged clothes just to make sure her boys had school clothes
I watched her work years in a lunch room and serve others just to come home and do it all again
I see something in verse # 1 that jut makes me want to shout
I see something in verse # 1 that jut makes me want to shout
I see a praying mother
a mother who has worked her whole life and doesn't have any worldly possessions to offer for a solution
Her husband is dead and the creditor is coming to take away everything that matters to her
Bondmen- Her Sons
Bondmen- Her Sons
Under the Levitical Law they would serve the creditor until the year of Jubilee
Im Glad my mother prayed for Me when I was a bondmen to Sin
Im Thankful for a praying Mother
I see a mother of Faith!!!
I see a mother of Faith!!!
Verse 2- Elisha asks what can I do for you- Whats in your House?
Verse 2- Elisha asks what can I do for you- Whats in your House?
All she had was a pot of oil
Elisha said go and borrow the vessels and not a few
Elisha told her to shut the door an her and her sons
Elisha told her to shut the door an her and her sons
She brought the oil and began to pour
She poured and poured and poured
All the vessels were filled and the oil stayed
Elisha told her to go and sell the oil to pay her debt
Elisha told her to go and sell the oil to pay her debt
I see a type of Christ that the prayers of our mothers are poured out.
The blood of Christ just keeps on being poured out
Like most people who don't miss Mom till shes gone, We take the prayers of mother and salvation so nonchalant
