Paul is highlighting the roles of women and men in the Church. He speaks of the created order and God’s design for the home to draw his comparison for how women should behave in the worship service.
His goal is to encourage God’s good design and to encourage a heartily acceptance of it. It is a walk of faith, obediently following God’s Word despite what we feel or what others say.
Motherhood is:

God’s Purposeful Design

The Created Order vs. 13-14

The man was created first: it was intended that he be the leader and bear the authority in the household. “The Head”
The woman was created second: meaning that she was to be in submission to his headship and leadership, to follow. His was the job to lead, her’s was to follow and support his leadership. This doesn’t make her lesser, it means she is different. She has equal worth, yet differing roles.
This is God’s designed order.
Paul is using it to explain why women should not serve in positions of spiritual leadership in the Church. Pastors, preaching, etc…

God Given Priorities

Titus 2:3–5 ESV
3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, 4 and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.
These are her God-given assignments. They are to be her priority.
These are her sphere of influence. She is not permitted to assert herself in the local church in leadership, but she has a different sphere of leadership. Her priority is her home, and her primary sphere of influence is her Children.
The basis of Motherhood!
Clarification:
The is not an absolute condemnation of women working outside the home. There are exceptions to this (). Single unmarried women can “biblically” find jobs and work outside the home. Ladies who have raised their Children and are in a different season of life can do things outside of the home. I’ve know women who were faithful mothers and wives who held a job, but kept their duties at home faithfully.
It simply means that this is her God-given priority. Her assignment.
There are exceptions to this (). Single unmarried women can “biblically” find jobs and work outside the home. Ladies who have raised their Children and are in a different season of life
“Her place is not necessarily in the home, but her responsibility is for her home.”

The Woman and the Fall vs. 14

1. She was the means of the fall.
She was the instrument satan used to bring about the destruction, fall, and death of mankind.
Genesis 3:16 ESV
16 To the woman he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you.”
Genesis 3:15 ESV
15 I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”
This is
So because of her part in the fall of mankind, childbearing is now painful and difficult. It’s a reminder of sin. Not you have sinned specifically but that the female gender played an instrumental part in the fall of mankind.
2. She now resists her husband’s leadership.
There’s a natural inclination in fallen women to want the position of headship. A desire to be in his place.
Culture Propagates this without reserve
Women can be and do anything a man can, and should. There’s no distinction between the sexes. Your greatest fulfillment will be in disregarding the Bible’s distinctions and roles for women. You will find your true worth in forsaking your God given role.
Just the opposite is true!
Motherhood is something to be despised because it is wearisome.
Abortion testifies that our culture believes this.
Both of these are a lie.
True worth true life is found in obedience to God’s revealed will.
Psalm 1:1–2 ESV
1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.
Psalm 1:1 ESV
1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;

God’s Means of Blessing

God’s means of bringing salvation into the world
Saved from what?
The stigma of bringing in the trasgression. Your role is reestablished, your importance verified through God’s redemption.
Genesis 3:15 ESV
15 I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”
What once was the vehicle of bringng sin into the world, God now uses to bring in salvation.
-This is why OT women prized giving birth. This is our redemption, I might be the one to bring in the savior.
to Mary “Blessed are you” “Highly favored among women”
2. God’s normal means of bringing salvation to your Children.
Normal means, not guaranteed means.
Motherhood is kingdom work.
You are no second class service, you are on the front lines of raising a generation for the glory of God.
What Can you Do?
Teach:
Your kids they are fallen and sinful.
They are spiritually dead.
There is redemption in Christ, they can be rescued by Him.
That they must be born again.
It was the custom on Sunday evenings, while we were yet little children, for her to stay at home with us, and then we sat round the table, and read verse by verse, and she explained the Scripture to us. After that was done, then came the time of pleading; there was a little piece of Alleine’s Alarm, or of Baxter’s Call to the Unconverted, and this was read with pointed observations made to each of us as we sat round the table; and the question was asked, how long it would be before we would think about our state, how long before we would seek the Lord. Then came a mother’s prayer, and some of the words of that prayer we shall never forget, even when our hair is grey.
In these prayers, she pleaded with God to extend his saving mercy to her children. Charles remembered that on one occasion she prayed in this way: “Now, Lord, if my children go on in their sins, it will not be from ignorance that they perish, and my soul must bear a swift witness against them at the day of judgment if they lay not hold of Christ.” The thought of his own mother bearing witness against him pierced his soul and stirred his heart. Her intercession made such a deep impression on her young son that many years later he would write, “How can I ever forget her tearful eye when she warned me to escape from the wrath to come?” Another time she wrapped her arms around his neck and simply cried to God, “Oh, that my son might live before Thee!” The deepest desire of her heart was to see her children embrace her Savior.
Model:
Submission to God ordained authority (Husband)
Faithfully pursuing the truth. (Learn at Home)
A lifestyle of repentance (Confessing your faults)
Exhibiting a quiet spirit. (Restful trust in God’s providence)
3. Motherhood is the means of your sanctification
Motherhood is a blessing that is to your benefit. It doesn’t feel good, but God uses it to sanctify you through it.

That’s why it takes faith. vs. 15

So today joyfully accept your role and choose to be obedient to it. Own your God given responsiblity and see what God might do with it.
