Introduction
Greetings...
Last week we notice Paul talking about the “Purpose of Life.”
One of the purposes of life was to partner, defend, and confirm the gospel.
Another purpose was to “Abound in Love.”
Lastly our purpose in life is to understand “To Live is Christ to Die is Gain.
Paul then begins talking about the “Pattern of Life” in chapter two.
With this in mind let us examine our lesson for today.
The Pattern Of Life Is In Christ
Jesus gave up a lot for us.
When one begins examining the life we ought to live it must begin, today with understanding Jesus is our pattern of life.
However, this can only be appreciated until we strive to understand what Jesus gave up for us.
Theodore Roosevelt once stated, “Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.”

No one has demonstrated their love for us and shown us how much they care than God the Father, Son, and Spirit.
Jesus gave up a lot for us, and we should be willing to listen to what He knows for our life.
Jesus gave us a pattern of life to follow.
Not only does Jesus have the “words of eternal life” () but He gave us a pattern of life to follow.

The life of Christ, from start to finish was based on a purpose and goal which led to a perfect pattern for us to follow in our lives.
Jesus didn’t come to this earth just to be sacrifice He came to be an example to His creation about how to love and live.
In this perfectly patterned life of righteousness we see what should be in our lives.
That Pattern Of Life Is Demonstrated In Us
God works righteousness through us.
Many think that God “forces” His way into our lives and overwhelms us to righteousness but this is not the case.
God expects us to follow His Word and Jesus’ example in our live to effect the lives of others.

So how does God use us for “His works?”
By getting us to understand that...
Our mindset must pattern Christ.
Most people today would shutter at the idea of “thinking like someone else or being someone else.”
In fact those who have run from the law or been in witness protection and have been interviewed have talked about how hard it is to “be someone else.”
And, yet this is basically what Paul is writing to the church in Philippi.
As blood purchased children of God we are to mimic the mindset of Christ.

Not because the Father, Son, or Spirit want mindless robots but because God knows this is the best life here on earth and in the afterlife.
This new patterned mindset will help us understand...
Our life must be patterned after Christ.
If we are “thinking like Christ” it only makes sense that we would be “living like Christ.”

Conclusion
The pattern of life in Christ should be manifested in our life pattern.
We have the opportunity, as children of God, to hold up and make proud the name of God, if we live up to it.
