Introduction

Greetings...
Last week we finished up looking at a marinade of “Satan’s Lies.”
Everything from the false doctrine of “once saved always saved” to the unfortunate doctrine of theistic evolution.”
Having looked at that I thought it would be good then to turn our attention to that which guides us into all truth today, God’s Word.
In the great we find a large portion of it referencing reactions and expectations of us concerning the Holy Writ.
Over the next several weeks we are going to examine such expectations as “Hope In God’s Word” and “Dedication To God’s Word” but today we will be looking at “Blessings From God’s Word.”
Psalm 119:1–4 ESV
1 Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord! 2 Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart, 3 who also do no wrong, but walk in his ways! 4 You have commanded your precepts to be kept diligently.

Psalm 119:5–8 ESV
5 Oh that my ways may be steadfast in keeping your statutes! 6 Then I shall not be put to shame, having my eyes fixed on all your commandments. 7 I will praise you with an upright heart, when I learn your righteous rules. 8 I will keep your statutes; do not utterly forsake me!

Ps 119:
Ps 119:
Psalm 119:9–12 ESV
9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. 10 With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! 11 I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. 12 Blessed are you, O Lord; teach me your statutes!
Ps 119:9
Psalm 119:13–16 ESV
13 With my lips I declare all the rules of your mouth. 14 In the way of your testimonies I delight as much as in all riches. 15 I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. 16 I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.
Ps 119
Psalm 119:13–16 ESV

Let us now examine our lesson for today on “Blessings From God’s Word.”
Let us now examine our lesson for today on “Blessings From God’s Word.”

Blessed Are The Blameless

Ps 119:
Psalm 119:1 ESV
1 Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord!
Ps 119:

What Does The Word Blameless Mean?

Psalm 119:1 ESV
1 Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord!
“Blessed are those whose way is blameless...” ().
The word blameless (ESV), undefiled (NKJV), or perfect (ASV) means...
Logos Bible sense “free of guilt, not subject to blame.”
Lexham Analytical Lexicon “complete, unscathed, intact, blameless, without fault, free from blemish...”
Thus the idea is being without sin like a child.
2 Samuel 22:24 ESV
24 I was blameless before him, and I kept myself from guilt.
Ezekiel 28:15 ESV
15 You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you.
Ps
Psalm 18:23 ESV
23 I was blameless before him, and I kept myself from my guilt.

The blameless walk in the law.

Walking in the law of the Lord is the only way a person that has reached the age of accountability can be blameless before the Lord our God.
Psalm 119:1–2 ESV
1 Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord! 2 Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart,
Psalm 119:1 ESV
1 Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord!
This is achieved today because Jesus reconciled us to Him that we may walk in His ways.
Colossians 1:22 ESV
22 he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him,
Proverbs 11:20 ESV
20 Those of crooked heart are an abomination to the Lord, but those of blameless ways are his delight.
Ps 119:
Colossians 2:6 ESV
6 Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him,
1 John 1:7 ESV
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
1 John 1:7 ESV
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
We can only be blameless before our God when we have our “sins washed away” by the blood of Christ ().
So how do we “walk blamelessly” before our God?
First, by seeking & storing God’s Word with our whole heart.
The only way to “walk blamelessly” and keep God’s testimonies is by seeking Him with our whole heart.
Psalm 119:2 ESV
2 Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart,
Psalm 119:2 ESV
2 Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart,
Psalm 119:11 ESV
11 I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
Luke 10:27 ESV
27 And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
Second, by fixing our eyes on God’s ways.
Psalm 119:6 ESV
6 Then I shall not be put to shame, having my eyes fixed on all your commandments.
Hebrews 12:2 ESV
2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Third, by finding delight in God’s statutes.
Psalm 119:14 ESV
14 In the way of your testimonies I delight as much as in all riches.
Psalm 119:16 ESV
16 I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.
Jeremiah 15:14 ESV
14 I will make you serve your enemies in a land that you do not know, for in my anger a fire is kindled that shall burn forever.”
John 6:51 ESV
51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

Summary

The blessings that flow from God’s Word are the blameless walk we can have with our God through the blood of Christ.
Is there any greater joy found on earth today than that of walking blamelessly with our God?
Again this blameless walk only happens if we seek with a whole heart God’s Word, fix our eyes on His Word, and delight in His Word.

Blessed Are Those That Teach

We can’t teach unless we are taught.

There is no way anyone can teach a subject properly without first being taught and God’s Word is no different.
Thankfully God has provided His Word in its entirety to helps us.
Psalm 119:12 ESV
12 Blessed are you, O Lord; teach me your statutes!
Ps 119:
2 Timothy 3:16–17 ESV
16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
Psalm 119:105 ESV
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Because we have been taught God’s Word we are expected to teach others also.
Ps 119:
Psalm 119:12–13 ESV
12 Blessed are you, O Lord; teach me your statutes! 13 With my lips I declare all the rules of your mouth.

Teaching others blesses our lives.

I don’t know of anyone that has studied God’s Word with someone that didn’t feel blessed to do so.
That doesn’t mean every time we get the results we are hoping for or that there will not be some kind of disappointment or hurt that comes from someone that rejects God and His Word but the opportunity is always a blessing.
We have been charged with teaching the Word of God to others.
2 Timothy 2:2 ESV
2 and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
2 Cor
2 Corinthians 2:14–17 ESV
14 But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. 15 For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, 16 to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things? 17 For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.
This is talking about apostleship but applies in the generic since to us as seen in the previous verse.
We need to look no further than Paul to see the blessings found in teaching others.
Philippians 1:3–4 ESV
3 I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, 4 always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy,
1 Thessalonians 2:19 ESV
19 For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you?
2 Timothy 1:4 ESV
4 As I remember your tears, I long to see you, that I may be filled with joy.

Summary

Though there is great joy in studying God’s Word and blessings as well, there is also great blessings or joy found in teaching others the gospel and the whole counsel of God.
That blessing helps produce in endurance through refreshing our soul.

Conclusion

As God’s children let us “praise God with an upright heart, as we learn of His righteous rules” and “with our lips declare all of His just decrees.”
Everyday there is opportunity to be blessed by God and His Word, let us seek those opportunities out and be comforted by its blessings.

Romans 6:3–5 ESV
3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.
1 John 1:7 ESV
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
