The Kingdom of God

A great summary verse of what Jesus’ ministry looked like fo the 3 years that he walked the earth ministering before the cross.

What did He do?

Heal sick-

Cast out demons-

Preaching the good news of the Kingdom of God-

How did he heal sick people and cast out demons?

When I ask this, I get the same answer in America everytime:

He was God

When we answer like that, we forget 2 powerful truths:

One- He was also fully man, ad waited to do ministry until after His baptism when the Spirit came upon HIm.

Two- He tells us in that we (Those who follow Him) will do the same things he did and even greater things.

So the answer can’t be that He did these things just because He is God.

Also We see the Apostles doing the same things- They most surely were not God.

So How did He and how did the Apostles, and how do those who do so today do it?

It has much more to do with what Jesus was teaching (The Kingdom of God) than a formulaic procedure.

He went around teaching the good news of the Kingdom of God.

What on earth is the Good news of the Kingdom of God?

We get our biggest clue in the Lord’s prayer:

- teach us to pray.

Our father in Heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your Kingdom come- your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Things are different in heaven than on Earth.

No sickness- No pain- No demonic oppression.

Why? God reigns there. In the Lord’s prayer we say, let God reign here like in Heaven.

Where God reigns, things are the way they were supposed to be.

- Back to the beginning. The fall of man.

Eden was like it is in Heaven. No sickness, no death.

Eve and Adam, were given great authority. Given Earth to subdue and have dominion over.

They ruled and reigned on earth. God’s gift to them.

Satan, through his temptation, stole the authority.

The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus comes to give life in abundance.

He came to steal that authority, Kill humanity, and destroy the very thing God created.

Now Satan runs earth and we ave sickness, we have death, we have demonic terrorization.

What is God’s plan?

You will strike his heel, but his foot shall crush your head.

God already had the plan of Jesus on the cross.

What jesus does by living a sinless life, dying in our pace for sin, and removing the barrier between us and God, allowing the Spirit to re-enter man, is re-claim that authority- that rule and reign.

The great commission Jesus proclaims: All authority in Heaven and Earth has been given to me! HALLELUJAH!

Then he gives it to His people, the rightful owners. Therefore Go!

The good news- God’s rule mens restoration for us.

Our health

Our minds

Our spirits.

When The Kingdom is in our midst, there is breakthrough. God still does the same things jesus did 2000 years ago.

Who needs the good news o the Kingdom?
