Who We Are In Christ: Redeeming Our Relationships Part 4
Serving Christ means work respefully.
Serving Christ means working respectfully.
Here the thought is of whole-hearted, ungrudging surrender to the will of Christ.
This does not suggest servile respect — shaking in your boots lest you make a wrong move, or an obsequious, fawning “Yes, sir! Double yes, sir! Whatever you say, sir!” Rather, it suggests Christian reverence and respect for the master’s position and authority.

There can be no place in the Christian employee’s life for subtle insubordination toward his employer or for cleverly concealed contempt
Serving Christ means working diligently.
Serving Christ means working cheerfully.
The idea is that we are to go about our tasks with cheerful goodwill, with pleasantness. We have all met Christian sourpusses (an admitted contradiction in terms, but they do exist) who bring unpleasantness to everything — even driving. As the little boy innocently said to his mother, “Mommy, why do all the idiots come out when Daddy drives?”
Serving Christ means working expectantly.
Serving Christ means exercising authority graciously.
