Introduction
What a morning it has been to celebrate and to dedicate the grade 12s for their accomplishment in finishing high school (very soon). We have much to give thanks.
There are 5 THINGS TO BE THANKFUL FOR
Automatic dishwashers—they make it possible to get out of the kitchen before the family comes in for their after-dinner snacks.
Husbands who do small repair jobs around the house. They usually make them big enough to call in professionals.

Children who put away their things and clean up after themselves. They’re such a joy that you hate to see them go home to their own parents.

Gardening—it’s a relief to deal with dirt outside the house for a change.

5. Smoke alarms—they let you know when the turkey’s done.

Although I am at least 4 months early for Thanksgiving, the Bible calls us to be thankful in all circumstances.
Exposition
Let me ask you some questions to think about throughout the message:
Are you grateful to God?
If so, then what are you grateful for this morning?
If you are not thankful, then what are the reasons for such ungratefulness?
Do you feel grateful?
Or are you simply grateful just because you know it’s the right thing to do or your parents/pastors/Sunday school teachers told you so.
What should motivate or inspire you to be grateful?
For us to worship the LORD with thanksgiving, our mind, will, and emotions have to be moved by the LORD through His Word.
This is the only Psalm where the title is called “A Psalm for giving thanks.” Of course, it does not mean this is the only Psalm that talks about thanksgiving because there are other Psalms that express gratitude.
However, is quite a unique Psalm. Do not underestimate the shortness of this psalm because there are spiritual richness in understanding the root and the cause for why we as Christians must worship the LORD with thanksgiving.
I believe the answers to all those questions can be found in .

READ
begins with a title called, “A Psalm for giving thanks.” In some of your Bibles, it could be translated as “A Psalm of Praise or Giving Grateful Praise.”

The beginning of anthropology is theology
The beginning of anthropology is not through the secular society or humans.
The Metropolitan Tabernacle Pulpit Sermons, Vol. XL Exposition by C. H. Spurgeon (Psalms 100 and 101)

“The proper study of mankind is man.” Not so; man, know thy God; the proper study of mankind is God. He who knows God knows himself; that is, he knows himself to be nothing.

Christians ought to be the most thankful and joyful people in the face of the planet.

If you say you do not have time to read the Bible because you are busy, then you are essentially saying that you do not have time to know God. If you call yourself a Christian and say that you love God, but fail to spend time knowing Him through His Word, then Jesus would have this against you, “You have abandoned the love you had at first.” ()
Application
Atheistic Evolution does not have answers to anthropology.
Gratitude is missional.

Note the negative, as if to deny that we had any hand in our own making; and this is also worthy of notice spiritually. It is the Lord who hath made us Christians, and not we ourselves; he has created us in Christ Jesus.

The root of our gratitude is not in our feeling/joy, what makes us feel good about God, or the music per se, but it is rooted back in our knowledge of God (v.5).

Knowing God not in a theoretical way, but knowing God both practically and experientially.

Did you know that the title is originally part of the Bible, not a title inserted by the translator?
