John 8:9
44 You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
The renewal of our mind happens when we analyze INTENTIONALLY our way of acting, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, we check whether we have walked in the truth or the lie.
Every time we believe in a lie, we empower her father -

However, years believing a lie, this may have formed in us what we call "mental pattern": your mind is already accustomed to react in a certain way, it takes a certain effort to abandon the old habits.
But precisely because it is a change from the inside out, it must be 100% guided by the Holy Spirit, we can trust and walk safely in the TRUTHS LEARNED
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh.
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.
