1 - Title
Power: Ability to do things, by virtue of strength, skill, resources, or authorization.
Our limited power
Power is given to men: physical strength (Jgs 16:5, 6), power to fight (Jgs 6:12), and the power to do good and the power to do harm
Sin, evil, and death are allowed to have some power over men
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
The Gospels and book of Acts bear witness frequently to the power of Christ.
In the book of Acts when Peter was
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
Yet many do still not accept Him. Or do not accept his power.
Then he began to denounce the cities where most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent.
Power was shown in his miracles

Nature: Water into wine - calming the storm - feeding 5,000 - feeding 4,000 - walking on water - fish with a coin - huge catch of fish

“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know—

And they were all amazed and said to one another, “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”
On one of those days, as he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with him to heal.
And all the crowd sought to touch him, for power came out from him and healed them all.

No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”

Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Same power lives in us
Same power lives in us
By the same power that rose Jesus from the dead we have power over sin and death. That same power lives in us.
Believers can experience the transforming power of that new life here and now, the new life of the Spirit that frees us from the power of sin and death.
Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead.
In all the difficulties we face in life, our trust is not in ourselves, but in the resurrection power of God.
“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

Access only comes through the name of Jesus.
