Yes, indeed. We're going to pray for the offering. When people get saved good shaved their wallet could save. Sanderson chance to figure that out. I'm going to pray for pray for our our building program in the giving you that need to pray that the town of Gilbert would show us favor with our variance. They've already pre decided. They're not going to trust favor. They even told it to it twice. So here's the verse the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord and he turns it wherever he will we need a miracle and will drop all kinds of contingency plans, but our plan that we presented them is the best plan. So if you want some too blessed father, we want to see the Gilbert to listen to understand that your cry to look at what they've authorized in the past and be consistent in the present and the future we ask you to give us a favor. We humble ourselves before the mighty hand of God and we say God we need you. We we need you to act an RBF. We are powerless before the city officials. They ruined rain at their pleasure at their laser or The Ledger of any Spirit behind them. And so we asked you to help us have mercy on us and look with kindness toward your children bless our ties our offerings and multiply them to meet our needs to needs of our people and the church around the world in Jesus name. Amen. Hey, man, we're going to testimony to Michelle going to come and give his testimony. This is . No stop testimony. I love this person. It's a hard here. If you want nice church, if you want in the Box church, do you want to stay in the lines all the time? I'll be in the wrong place.
Good morning. I can definitely say that all of my life God has been faithful and he has been so good to me. And this is my third time sharing and my wife is actually in the service for this will be a this will be extra fun.
So I was born here in Phoenix and actually grew up in Payson and I remember as a child of the long 3 hours Sundays going to the Mormon church, cuz I grew up LDS. I remember learning Mormon Doctrine including the one that proclaims them to be the only true church. When I reach Junior High my dad who was never really active in the Mormon Church began reading the Bible and he became a Christian and a short time later at the age of 13. I also accepted Christ as our whole family would leave the church. the man
so after graduating from Payson high school, I went to NAU and upon going to a public university immediately begin to be challenged. It was also during that time that I began a girl with a unique name some of you may know where gel and she and I fell head over heels in love with each other and wanted to be together as much as we could and we dated throughout College unfortunate during that critical time. My roots really hadn't gone very deep with the Lord and I did not leave the relationship well and eventually towards the end of college Raquel broke off the relationship with me and that started a cycle of being together and breaking off and it was just a terribly terribly painful painful cycle and and I remember being depressed and how hard that was. What's my surprise right before graduating? I was contacted by Microsoft and and landed a job with them and ended up moving to Seattle. And when I got to see how I made one more attempt at the relationship it was hoping we could be together again, and she considered it but ultimately came back to me with the words. We can never talk again.
So I finally let go of trying to make that work and I let go of that dream of being together with her and took her to Seattle and had a a brand new start there and begin walking with the Lord again. I didn't realize it at the time but the Lord begin to position certain people in my life to help me and one of the only people he put my life was my friend and Dan and I were on the worship team together and we went on a 28 one weekend and one evening. I finally have the opportunity to share my heart with him and in and share my my story and I I told him for the Heartbreak in the regret in the pain that I constantly live with at the time. I was a Christian, but I really didn't know the Holy Spirit and I was struggling and I share this with him. He said to me Oh, well, whatever. I have those struggles. I just speak in tongues, and I stood.
And he said you speak in tongues. And I said I said no and he said okay. Well, I'll have you come over and meet my parents and I'll pray for you and I kind of nervously left. Okay, you know hoping hoping that you'd forget about that cuz that that's a bit wild to me, but I remember And his message. He said the words the holy spirit will help you and sure enough two days later. I had an email from them. Hey Tim won't you come over and meet my parents? They love to meet you and pray for you. And in that moment. I had a choice I can make an excuse to not go or I could take a step forward and go and receive prayer at and I was desperate and he said there was help for me. February 4th 2002 was the day I went to Dan's house and met his parents little did. I know his parents or powerful Believers that have been missionaries into Russia for years. And so And we had dinner and after dinner, they grabbed a chair and said in the middle of the family room, and I knew that chair was for me.
So I went by shutdown and now someone supposed to behave going to pray for your going to start speaking. Another language is I don't know about you but I'm taking myself now in the world is going to happen. I don't even know English. So I'm sitting there and they're praying for me and 30 45 seconds pass pass by and that's a long time. Right? Usually someone prays for you is just like 30 seconds. So this time is still 17 minutes and nothing's happening and I think to myself how you know, maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe this isn't my time that God would do this and about the time I start thinking that I begin to feel the presence of God come over me and I begin to feel like a power start to physical sensation actually start to happen and then start to increase and it was in my power went up into my John. I felt my tongue kind of tense up and I thought it was something's happening here in the presence of God just became very heavy and I could sense the Lord, but I wasn't really sure what to do is I had this tenseness to my tongue and wasn't sure what to do. And so finally I just I just spoke out and out of my mouth in this brand-new Heavenly language, praise God.
So I fall down on my face tears falling Pierce Point on my eyes is waves of God's love ways of his acceptance. Just washing over me. And that's why I'm on the ground. I hear the Lord speak to me for the first time and he says
he said to me you're my boy. I've been with you since your first born. I love you. You are completely forgiven and just ways of God's love is crashing Over Me Is I'm on the ground. I didn't have this experience this like part Vision part. I'm hearing this celebration erupt in heaven and I hear like bells and whistles. I hear I just for a brief moment. There's a celebration. I think I know who knows me up there and then that he was wild experience when awake after after this happen my entire life changed where I once had turmoil I had complete teeth and as such a piece in the depths of my soul. I had a new love for people a new passion for reading God's word might my relationship with Christ completely went to a new place. It was it was Radical and and transforming That last summer I went to a short-term mission trip to Russia. And while I was there, I received a prophetic word. The prophetic word said you will know God's restoration didn't really know exactly what but I can tell you that deep deep in my heart. I still long to be with Virgo. I still loved her and but I knew that at that point she moved to Houston was working for Exelon. I was in Seattle. This was back before the Facebook days. So there's really no way of like us communicating except for one thing and that is that at Christmas time a year later. Her sister called me just to wish me a merry Christmas. And so I talked to her and I suddenly realize the whole families together and they're on a hike and my heart starts racing. Oh my goodness for gal is there and so I think we'll just have to at least say hi to her and she said sure So I put her on the phone and that familiar voice came on the line and what I thought was going to be maybe a 2 or 3-minute conversation ended up talking for 45 minutes or an hour and as we got off the phone, I just stopped cannabis piece, but same time I thought oh my goodness. I need I need prayer need to pray and in the in the short days ahead. God spoke to me very so clearly and he said to me pursue her. So and I just knew it so clearly I thought God is going to restore this relationship. So about a week later. I I call her and I basically I wasn't calling just to say hi. So I had to go from 0 to 60 in like 2 seconds, and I said to her.
I told her I said I believe that the God can restore this relationship. I will never forget what she said. She said, I don't know Tim. I'm scared and my heart dropped and I thought to myself, Why don't you tell her the same thing you could have made this easier on me Lord. In the days and months ahead. We continue to talk and God began to work a beautiful and really miraculous restoration of of our relationship and six months later. We were engaged in six months after that. We were married in the same church in Payson the where she and I had originally met and I can tell you that God has been so good and I have a wonderful marriage and I my for kids are back there and such and such a blessed man. I want to just tell you that God doesn't want to leave us a struggling Christians. He gave us the Holy Spirit to help us the baptism. Holy spirit. It's really changed my life change the entire course of my destiny and I'm so grateful to Jesus for all he's done. My name is Tim Shaw and this is my story.
That's what I'm talking about.
You don't you live overseas. I'm Teresa had for 10 years. Everybody's charismatic Pentecostal, except the few that churches that are found by American mission is you get back here. And now you got all these pictures is that When I have it all packaged sterile, but I don't live as their life to you. I got problems. Here's the here's Tuesday. Go to pastors prayer meeting and we're having lunch. Will you produce group of pastors having lunch? And I start text. Come on my phone. There's a text. There's a demon-possessed man in the back lobby. Are you coming back?
What do you say yet?
How to express I mean all my years of doing Deliverance, that's one of the tougher ones and who's the end of the story. He's free. He's free.
but I just got a text from an elder and said a person will be arriving here after the service because they have nowhere else to go. For the powers are assaulting their life, then here to Jesus to the power of the Holy Spirit. We think that you can just figure out life of your head. You cannot sometimes there will need to be a power and counter because the world is actually the same as 2,000 years ago in the Bible was written. It has not changed. In fact, it's my personal believe that this Society is more in trouble than the Society of those times. We manufactured new drugs. We have electronic means that teaching all kinds of really bad stuff to everybody. So we're going to need To see the power of God in these days. Like we've never seen it before and we're prepping for that. I like what Jim said about getting yourself rooted in the goodness of God. you know, you don't necessarily talk to Demons, but one of the things that demon said Tuesday was the guy that I'm possessing he's dead. He's saying he he did something bad he gave control of his body to me and he's not dead. Here's what you need to know the Bible.
Holy Spirit immediately gave me scripture instead The body without the spirit is dead. And so this is where I think the Deliverance came I said that a demon you're lying. The Bible says the body without the spirit is dead. If this person wasn't there the body would be dead. You can't make a body of lie. That's why he takes over humans. So he's still there and he can be free and he is.
So we did not plan any of this. I didn't plan name tag Sunday. But once a church pass is 120. You will have to intentionally work not just the staff. But the people who come to church will have to intentionally work together to make Community. We just have to do that. But before this church ever existed sitting in the living room in Madison, Wisconsin, our core team probably the kids weren't there. So it's probably 12 adults 19 of us moved here to start this church and we wrote down our core values in this is one of the values that we came up with. It was important every one of these people were mature Christians. They knew what they were doing while they thought they knew what they were doing by moving to thousand miles from where else but They wanted this to be part of our church because when you do a church plant is stifling taking over like if you get called with the password of a church is already existing. You have to work with what they're And you can change it but you'll have to do it slow. But when you started you just get to put the rules down and use one of our core values are rules for our existence opportunities for everyone to velop meaningful relationships and to receive Ministry that is not authentic loving and committed so that people can find community in a very lonely Valley and when you're older and people around you start dying and they do I'm 61 and my friends that I went to high school with her already dying. That's life. You'll have to intentionally make friends. I read this week at the average American who's 50 to 60 years old has not made a new friend in two decades. That is how insular TV and air conditioning and everything is made us we need to swim against the culture but look it up again. What is that for community? Altar Ministry training. Yes, you come and pray for people but when you meet people things chain last night our lady came, they were sent from the other side of Phoenix for what we offer here. And right there. Right on the first row. We let her to Christ it took so long. It was a difficult case. I heard of are humans the washers were ministering to where they came and got me and like you guys there's nothing we got what can I do for a sit-down work boots. What the problem was sent to an interference for way to the lobby and they turn the lights out on us, but as the lights went down we let her to the Lord. That's called Community happening right there prophetic school where you're going to get a leader and there's going to be a team and you were going to have more camaraderie because it's fellowship with a purpose. I don't know if you've ever had a group or you just try to be friends, but it doesn't have purpose humans need things in their relationships in one is purpose. That's why marriage is not to make you happy. That's the wrong purpose. Your marriage is to glorify God and serve him as a couple then you're supposed to raise up a Godly seed the past on God to the Next Generation marriages have purpose. So give me the father daughter thing. Marriage Retreat, you know when you go to a marriage Retreat you actually get to hear other people share what's going on in one of the things that that you take away from the Devil is this we're the only ones with this problem. But then you meet some nice people in Hugo have we can be friends outside of this group? It's just we are always working this way, but we can't do it without your help. You got to take some step with us. So I just explain why this topic is important rest of the different kind of orientation is a pastor can have my gift is pastoring. So I care about people some of the greatest things that have happened in 15 years of the church is waiting out some of our kids to try to take a left turn and they've now come back to the Lord after 10 years. That means something to me. I'm willing to wait. Because I'm committed to the relationship.
So I bring this up because we're about a city of six million people and where is loneliness rampant everywhere it if you were honest, you would tell me about your lonely times.
You know if I would have say stand up your few never lonely. I don't know if one person would stand up. We all know what this is but some suffer more than others.
The body of Christ was thought up in God's mind so that we would not have that as much now, I think loneliness exists because of the Fall. I don't think we're going to always get rid of it. But if you do go through some loneliness it will make you appreciate Fellowship.
I'm looking over here. Lindy freeze
Listen to country. where there is no church And she's a fellowship kind of girl. She came with us from the church plant these core values. She was part of writing these.
We don't go to church even though we've got one close. She's got no one near. Think about that. They have to be the church because there isn't a church there but it's lonely Your Mother Teresa said loneliness and the feeling of being unwanted is the most terrible poverty. Is that deal is Nick cuz I'm actually show you some Bible verses you were made for community. And even if you're kind of an introvert, and you're the only person you're lying if you stay don't need people. My oldest son is one of the biggest intervention I know but on the family text when we say we're getting together as a family he comes every time. We are his people that he touches. so think about this now to descale were in The Fellowship of Christian assemblies conference and they had a speaker and I was very nervous about the speaker because he's the president of Moody Bible Institute. I'm going I don't know what Pastor McCartney in Chicago in this group is doing picking and non charismatic guide to speak at a charismatic Pastors conference. It's kind of Bolt. But yeah this really cool suit and some really cool shoes. I mean shoes were cool of cool. Is that cool dude, he was He was in good shape and he was in my age in my wife's elbow was going like that. It's all happening. He starts walking back and forth and he said he's got seven churches there. He's got 11,000 people. So he's a pretty successful Pastor in Chicago Story 25 years ago. He put his church on the absolutely most violent poverty-stricken part of South Chicago. He went to if you will the anus of Chicago. And he put a shirt church right there and it's now 11,000 people. Then you started dropping these words and I'm like look at it Teresa like sounds like one of our guys. And then later on he is one of my guys. Tell me what the title is to do tend to them and they said hey, we want you to be present when we know we've watched you start here in our city from nothing and you have power in the worst place where you have is real and we're dying. We want you to come to the president.
I like that.
Like that a lot. So let's talk about loneliness and Solitude cuz How much based on your personality and also and just love me even though I say this? summer based on your emotional health loneliness can become solitudes but they're not the same loneliness expresses the pain of being alone Solitude expresses the glory of being alone. Now there's a phenomena after the people retire, you know that the guy retires and everybody's looking forward to the golden years and then about six months into the retirement the wife is going like this. What is to get a part-time job? I love you and everything but I can take you 24 hours a day. It's just a little constricting. Until the guys got to go get a job because yeah, we probably weren't made to be there and sometimes a little bit of freedom is kind of interesting in it. No, one of our old is Rick Howard. His wife ran away to Denver is doing a job right away. She's working. There is a reason their marriages absolutely solid. But he's kind of Lonesome right now. You know, it's not like she went away for a day.
He was supposed to take a little bit and that's called solitude. But if it goes past that little bit then it moves into loneliness. Loneliness is a really terrible thing. Just really it. God didn't make us to be lonely. Look at this verse then God the Lord. God said it is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him. So if you come to be here after our conference we had last year. Let me define this word helper. This is the same word that David uses for God did it did not say you are a slave. Didn't say you were my servant. He didn't say to God. Hey, you're a woman. There's a kitchen make me a sandwich. Can you see David saying that the god I don't think so. This is not about oppression of gender here. This is a helper a loyal Ally Who covers your back. She actually carries lethal weapons to defend you and to make you the best you could ever be so we know God here says it's not good for us to be alone. We're not meant to live out in some cave in the Superstition Wilderness. There are very few people that can do that. Well, After while we will need people. You know I do with people all the time, but I need a little bit of long time. I don't need as much a long time is truth in it. I need a little bit of a long time, but I'll take a little bit of solitude because for me it's never hardly ever loneliness, and then I want to be back with people, but that's my personality that people make me happy. But I don't think this person is just about marriage. We almost exclusively use it for marriage, but the word suitable here is also translated corresponding. It means that men and women put together and if they put together real close to get a baby.
I think God was thinking about family. We're having a family dinner today and my youngest son made a joke and he said hey, you guys really want to get together again and the answer is yes. We're family. We want to see the grandkids. Now. There's more than two grandkids going to get together. They just we just haven't had the unveiling right? So we got one over here where Leslie I start here. She's in Nursery Ministry in the bathroom. He's not he's going to bring number to to the table here. We're pretty happy about that.
So I think families God's idea, but when the family gets married in pretty soon all those kids get married to got kind of a village. I'm in the village we come to town at the time because the city and actually think that was all in God's mind when he made this woman to correspond to a man marriage 66% of America is single and what they need is friends too and you need just the same qualities as a single person good friend as you need to be a married person good friend that sometimes I see people that are lousy friend single and they think they're going to get married and have a good marriage. No, you're not you never developed the skills. We should enjoy our singleness as much as our unions and we're not less than complete. If we're single. We're not meant to be alone though friends and social group should also be part of our existence. So let's look at the ministry part. We wrote a fantic which is of Undisputed origin. I'm in the olive oil right now. It's not all from Italy. It's not even all olive oil. There are places that for certain us laws can mix other oils into the olive oil and say it's olive oil, but it's not You got to get it. It's got to be numbered and it's got to have a license for there. Probably faking.
When you buy olive oil you wanted of undisturbed Undisputed origin you wanted to be over asked you want to hear a city is truthfulness. You wanted to be genuine. You wanted to be what it was marketed to be and we want it. We want to have that. We're actually not any here at the decision for the very beginning of the church. We are not going to be slick. Relaxing easlick Hugo you're doing a good job.
We're not working for polished. We're not trying to be a theater. We are not trying to provide entertainment. Just just understand trying to be God. And you know what? That's a little bit of an art not a science so you don't always get what you want to go every time but we try our best loving we want a caring commitment and with your faction in the light are shown to others. I think that's why we come through to the finish the story this guy walking back and forth in Chicago. He's talking to pastors and their spouses cuz summer men summer women. Most of them are pastors are men, but there are women in the group and he says when pastors are there you want to know one question.
Does anybody see me? He's talking to pastors to just anybody see me and then he goes on in his doctor talk about the second question you have any time as does anybody care that I am alive? And this is in the heart of every human being you want. Does anybody see me? Does anybody recognize me and then does anybody care that I still breathe that was put into you by God's grace. And if you go to a church with that is not answered. You won't feel plugged in. However, it's not just the leadership problem. If you sit in the back and go like this and Go Over My Dead Body, will you ever be friendly to me or be nice to me? Well, guess what? You're not going to get a friend, right? And you always have to work. You got to know him and nature by the time you're 18. You should know human nature and know that one of the ways you make friends is keep showing up until someone notices you. Or show up and notice someone else. And you will be noticed you have to do your part. Right? So this the light thing I in a singles can show the light in each other. I I see you. I know you only have things we want them to say that a team group when we have awakened on Thursday night. We want them to see I have delighted you are here. I decided. I was not a Christian as a teenager. I do not know what our youth group is. I sent Pastor Jim to get some training from that what we consider the United States greatest youth pastor happens to be a woman Gmail. Just for all you guys out there. How good she was she her husband was a senior pastor. That number is coming of God churches in the churches that he pastored three different times. He had youth groups of over a thousand. I think she probably pretty good. What do you think? I think about how to keep a thousand things together that is like herding cats to the extreme, right?
But when I got the cars and courage and they said this is my age group. I said, I'm still going up. Whatever that group did I showed up? And you know what happened after a little bit of showing up. I became the leaders group. I just showed up. Always there sometimes it was fun. Sometimes it wasn't that much fun. Sometimes people notice me. Sometimes people didn't notice me. Sometimes he treated me good. Sometimes they didn't give me that good since I'm showing up showing up. You need to be that good. I'm going to figure out why you did that because I found out this hurting people hurt people. So I've begun to not take it personal when people hurt me. I figure they got something else going on. How much is committing. This is extremely it was extremely American. It is now extremely on American because our culture is in Decline you need to study the immorality of our culture is going to decline of our culture check the Spartan culture in Greek Greece check the Roman culture check any culture you want. It's about 400 years 200 is your Pinnacle 200 after 200 slides what kills a civilization ask yourself? Why are there no Roman Empire Why are they why is the Mayan culture not here? the Mayan cultures moral decay of human sacrifice I believe personally God wiped the Incas in the Mayan civilizations out because they line their streets with the skulls of their sacrifices. Check it out. Commitment is maintained by a moral obligation to loyally persist in the obstacle cost or turn it to possibility you get married for the day or the time that you become a fiance. You've got other possibilities. The commitment test even though I see the other possibilities I say no. And I am with you. I'm glad Priestess to with me. I wake up every morning. She still there cuz I'm amazing pretty cool, but I'm an idiot sometimes.
Going back to the beginning of you vow to intrude binding dedication dedication to a relationship based on a willful promise. Sometimes you're in a relationship or a friendship with people because you promised because you said you would because you said enacted and you did a little dance and said we're friends be if you didn't do if it's not a marriage relationship and you're going to be there even if they hurt you you're going to be there. Even if they're dumb if you're going to be there even if they say some stupid stuff if you you're going to be there even though their author Gordon crazy in the. Of their life you just going to hide dude whenever you wake up. I'm here for you. Right. I don't know how many of my friends kind of went off track. The one guy who took me to church in Madison Wisconsin became a practicing agnostic didn't stop being my friend. I just said dude. I've seen you swing a couple of times and when you swing back through or just going to have a lot better time cuz you're not a practicing agnostic. You lying to yourself .3, where do we offer this pathetic loving and committed Ministry?
Not remember, it's got two components. There is the giving part of ministry and there's the receiving part when a kid is a year old. He pretty much receive.
No in our Mother's Day card, our Mother's Day card. Teresa's Mother's Day card Leslie Road something to her mother that I found very profound cuz she's kind of whimsical and she's got a romantic as he thinks about stuff that nobody else stuff. I miss you thought about wedding where her husband comes in on a horse. Who does that?
What she wrote in the card cuz she's experiencing now with her son.
It's something that affected this. Thank you for all the wonderful precious. beautiful movies we had together when I was a baby and only you remember. This isn't the truth baby. Just remember how many times does a a baby deeply minister to the mother or the father and yet? The baby's not going to remember that moment so I can tell you that Leslie wrote the truth. I watched Teresa enjoy have such special times so many fun laughing moments that Leslie that's been sitting over there. Remember, it's Stacy to remember this. Remember the process they don't remember those times birthday, which is committed relationship of parent-child. Now they get to the age where you have those moments together and both parties can say do you remember when but there's a crow process there in the beginning of baby just received but if you're still receiving at 33, the only word I can use for you is either selfish or sick. because when we get 18 now, we're giving we give more than we receive. And that's the way it is and you need to know that in the giving there's a ton of getting if you're doing it God's way. one example Madison Wisconsin I am 22 Just got myself. Pastor title had to call for people. I was on the platform. I come down. I've been praying in tongues and getting ready to hold a for the meeting and I had a power kind of an anointing on me and there's a blonde haired lady down there. And I knew I was supposed to pray for her when I went to and put out my hand as I got close, but this far away something went down my arm and hit her right in the forehead. Like she got hit with a two-by-four. She said she went right down and started crying like only women can do right. I never knew how many different ways women can cry, you know, we get married in Teresa's ball in her eyes and off I went through. So what's wrong with you?
Okay, I didn't know you called when you were happy. I don't cry when I'm at the women cry whenever it happened. You got to learn how to interpret that probably is if you push this one more time, you are so tired first. You got to know what that cry is guys, right? I thought you down there and we talked to her. She was completely set free. So she got her think she received but I'll tell you what, you can never take away. The given the being used. There's an old song. We used to sing channels only blessed Master panels of the love of God the word of God the power of God that is better than getting I'm telling you it is I have it by authority of a famous philosopher. He said this it is more blessed to give than receive. You know that place was named Jesus. He's pretty high up on the list. Seeing if you haven't learned that in giving you receive.
Got something to look forward to so where do we do this at church? We do it here altar Ministry every weekend last night person came down. born again those people received in there giving but it was one of the more difficult times that are they actually called me in on that and even they went to a long they turn the lights out on us. But she got born again. It was a special night. Prayer and praise every first we had prayer and praise we had a we had a line up here. I had everybody get up here that need a prayer and then I'd everybody was out there to come and pray for them and people got people receive by receiving and other people received by giving and I don't know which group left more plastic is in God's plan amazing. We got life group. He said he's home goofy bottle studies or copy groups, but it's a group or you should be smart if we can see each other's eyeballs and there can be a give-and-take of information stupid thing is Sunday morning get to know people share life. We have a person that is kind of sad to me because one of our first Ministries at the church was called moving. When we are first the church removed everybody all the time there a couple families that when they first got saved because they were financially destitute. We like moving three times. It was like a lot of work and that nobody ever move in the winter here in Arizona that's against the rules. You must move when it's a hundred and ten, right? None of this baby stuff moving in January. You don't got to call on this person said in here. They're very special to me deeply special to me because They were raised Muslim and they found Christ Supernatural in New Jersey and when they moved here instead of coming out of church. It was a real blessing to me. And they said this weekend this weekend Memorial Day weekend. We need to move can anybody help us and most of us are in California? And I I had to type back. I personally know of no one who can help you move this weekend, you know that's against the fabric of who we are because we always want to be there for that person in need and I never want to tell people that I can't help them. But sometimes you know, I don't control the Destinies are time of other people. I just know I'm in California, but if I wasn't California, I'd be moving that family. We have fire starters in awaken. We got healing rooms. We've got Sozo Ministry. We got men's and women's ministry groups of those we've got Individual things that you can do inside of men's and women's I got the I got this message Monday single moms coming in and I'm like, okay, she probably needs benevolence. I kind of heard through the grapevine. She lost her job.
It was what we do. We have single mothers here. We just do we just we believe that single mothers need help. So I'm okay whatever, you know. I never met with somebody and got school Bluffs.
What are the reasons you you especially Janelle McCoy? She said across my desk and she said well, you know, you're my covering. I don't have a covering anymore so I can still be recovering and you heard maybe that I lost my job and I said I did cuz I got a Year's severance.
I just said something very interesting. She said when I came here to enough years ago, I was a wreck. As a mess. And if I got that Severance two and a half years ago, I would have spent it all. But I came here and I found so much help iPhone so much teaching. I found so many people that could help me learn how to be a mom how to manage my finances how to do other stuff that I'm just doing good really right now and she is grown in our Christian Life to such a point. That is why she lost her job her boss became so successful. She told her business. But the boss loves his woman so much. She said I just might start a business so I can keep you around. She said, you know some of our products got to be so good because it's your connection with God cuz she would pray over the product and get this idea and do it really quick and she would tell her boss and their boss was too. How did you get that? Cuz I don't know if Jesus just gave it to me. He's with your boss that you have a connection with God that I don't have.
That's Church Folks. There was a given it take you on this late cuz you know, we stay or single mom. You say your single mom has six kids people.
Pinterest never talking about cuz this is a special lady. We're like, we were married and we have four kids and we were like I was pushing us. I just single mom. She's raising six and one of them is a baby. I was so touched by that time together with this woman. But I saw how God works in your life and how he used many of you and especially Janelle in the single moms. Go see we have these places where you can get connected. Did you notice in Tim's testimony key when he was he was connected. He's on a worship team. He went to a twenty-something group and he had a friend named Dan who helped them if Dan had not talked to him. Maybe the Shaws wouldn't be married today. Maybe their kids would not be a lot good because Tim was practically involved in the church when he had a problem. He found an answer but sometimes we sit on the periphery and we don't engage fully our problem comes and there's no Dan to help us out notice that the single mom said I got these people tell you their names Janelle and if another single mom, I got them helping you teaching me learning different things skills financial management so I can make it. That's what we Talking about today meaningful relationships meaning for me. There's a given to take you get something I get something and we're both happy. No one gets used up. Healing Roots, you know. You want to report a Band of Brothers? Do you want to be on the Frontline Ministries healing rooms distinct 30 people the week 15 don't even come to Two Rivers Church. They're seeing so many miracles, but here's one that got a team and what is new in one is older and more experienced than it and they they they prayed over the folders when the people come in think about how radical this is and they get prophetic words for the person that they haven't even seen yet and they ran him out. Got a new do it wrote out a word and she compared it to the other person's word. And she said I don't know about my word and the person is mature said now you just stick to your word. You just you got that from God, right? You believe God. Give me that word. Yep. Yep. Yep. Okay with that person continue stick. You were going to stick this for two completely different prophetic words when they came in and gave him the word. They both significantly were true. But you don't want that curl learned that because she had an experienced person and when you when you go through the battle like that you get this Esprit Decor you get this band of brother you get this camaraderie that you can get with a remote sitting in a rocking chair at home. You just if you're off and out of the battle, you will never experience what it's like to battle the enemy to gather and I covered for you this sense. We are taking the kingdom of God for word. It is all of us. Some of us working together. Every miracle that happened this week and there have been a number of Miracles had one of you at the start the middle or the finish of the miracle not pastoral staff. Pretty cool. Just pretty cool cuz it's fun to do the stuff discipleship relationships on Saturday. I had eight nine 10 doing a little white polka going through that Saturday is my busiest day. I come here at 8:00 in the morning. I go home last night. I went home at 9 at night. So that's 13 hours. I won't give up those three hours those three hours and discipleship will not give him up that time of interacting with one or two people is so meaningful to me. It's like it makes the weak pulse. I want to come and preach and teach you romance for the week in mutually, encourage one another and I don't just given those meetings I get back. I won't cancel.
Why don't you not do this? I'm like dude I called you sometimes.
I'm not giving this up because this personal interaction is where I land. This is Meaningful to me. You got your Celebrate Recovery people weekly going through stuff volunteer Ministries greeting ultrasound media. Music Ministry Cafe, they all add. Do you know what time he's distance do?
Some of us have a hard time getting the church for the second song. They're here at 2:30 on Saturday getting ready for the Saturday service. They come at 8 on Sunday. There's your through they make that sacrifice for you. However, there is this band of brother on the team. That is pretty special. The lunch brunch. I think they are. This has been kind of a final frontier for us. This group is been unattended for most of the history of Two Rivers church. I've been the oldest person. all of a sudden we bought this building in the gray hair filled in
I guess it's cuz we look like we got to church then we got some of us that don't have any here in field in but take it would be great if it was there. This group. I had this one girl. She said, you know. I got nothing to give I'm just an old person. I have a friend who moved to the west side of Phoenix Elder in our church and Madison. They see between 2 and 400 people get saved in their Community every year. He was the dean of Life Sciences at the University of Wisconsin. But his eternal reward Ministry began as a retired person in a retirement community cuz you know what people are open before 18 and when their friends start dying they get start getting open again. Pastoral care saw some thoughts from the Bible it is so then those received this word were baptized and on that day. There were added about 3,000 sold the First Christian Church was a mega church from day one. 3000 is a megachurch no matter how you cut it. You got to read they've got relationship problems. They've got Lonely People. They've got hurting people. They've got people need, you know Ministry because they don't have any money because they came here from some other part for the Pentecost Festival in these stayed in the reason why they have those verses in the middle of these verses where they sold things in that is cuz nobody had any money but notice the community here in this church. They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles teaching that every now and then continually devoting Fellowship. This is the word Koinonia. This is face-to-face eyeball. Stop breaking a bread that's code word for having meals together and prayer take out their day by day continue with one mind of the temple breaking bread from house to house you were taking their meals together. You know that these 3,000 was split into little things all around the city of Jerusalem. And that's where the community came that's where loneliness got banished. That's where the needs were met.
So what's just apply this will need some sort of small group. I've always been focused on the homegroup the home Bible study group. And I think I'm right on that. Most of us should be in that. Our teams are have those group are awakened people have those groups you get that kind of grouping Celebrate Recovery. We have our home groups. But I've begun to appreciate the second one, which is the validity of ministry involvement in Tianjin smoggers that happens in the well, actually there's a Band of Brothers inside to celebrate recovery. So if they have 35 people going there are 15 or so that make up the core they have Great Fellowship together because they're in battle together go to the healing teams have that they have communion between the two slots to get together in a room all the people that are ministering that can and they they scare the testimonies the fruits of their labor. It's extremely fulfilling then you have people that do cells those I mean you do is so sore when there's a miraculous thing that happens and I can just see those guys when I got done you got that this bump after is why we just saw Jesus come and help this person. I begin to realize those are important still getting with small group attended regularly. You can't just getting a smog you got to tend it regularly and regularly is not once a month. That's not regular Church attendance either by the way. Not that I'm preaching to the choir. I think regular Church attendance about three or four. And you just hard hard pressed to get me not to go to church. Even if I wasn't at Pastor discusses this church. Go to retreat right up with other some people can't go to retreat cuz it's Noir.
You know my answer that is so does everybody else doing it. It's kind of like I want to go to church cuz it's too many Hypocrites while giving us through those people who aren't you come along with one more?
Cuz I have a greater. Somebody know something doesn't do it. Nobody does everything they know. People get ripped off by the devil because of comfort me some things women's ministry at these Divas. Ramona was talking to me was wrong about living in Romania. He grabs a chicken cut its head off. This is as you know, you're still alive and it parts. So what are sister or cleaning the chicken in there seeing which one can make the chicken fart the most? Can you peel enough the feathers and Miri. It made we just go down to whatever Costco Sam's Club pick up the chicken thing about if you pick it up the chicken, did you go out and grab it life is way too easy. We don't need to be Divas. We don't need to be these guys can't go you just lose out here. If you don't go for yourself go for someone else. The day has long passed that I went to church or went to retreat or went to an activity permit for me. I go to prayer and praise to be called on by God to serve other people with me. And you know what? That's the mature part. That's the giving part but I'm going to take a secret. There's more getting in the giving than there is in the Getty. Just the way it is. It's called the economy. I think Kristen Andrew class so you can go there and you can make a Cadre of friends for life. Cuz you got to be in these things where you can see the eyeball, you have to be there where they can really annoy you because the church see they can't ignore you enough.
Human human problems are where you learn how to live? The problem with the 1 and 2 child families in America is we didn't we didn't learn any social skills in these little family. The little brats cat with a little brats wanted to grow up to be a teen and I can't get along with anybody. Will you come from a family? That's big like mine here to learn how to fight. There's one pork chop on that plane at the end of everybody serving. You got to figure out a way to get that porkchop.
It's called survival skills doing Outreach is going to miss this trip. You probably even know what their feet smell like. Attending age-related Ministry like the teams are wicked. This is one. I just said it annoys me to no end when we set a retreat and then people don't take advantage of it and they schedule something over it. The reason why we put it out of your advances to the people. No one teen Retreat is worth one year. This is statistically evaluated in a person dropping. I don't either go to go to the team so when you don't go to team loses I will go to a men's Retreat. My wife will go to Womens Retreat. We don't call you because it's super needy we go there because we can give to somebody and that fulfills a need. Go for others learn to reach out to him. How about this one sixth open your Social Circles to to to to to each other to new people. There are some people naturally just look for new people invite him over. So awesome. No Social Circle. I got an idea little Romans 1 Faith called that which does not exist as though we're Start a Social Circle. We have probably 800 people you can start a social circle with a house. They are going to need is an invite from you. There are a lot of people I could show you. You coming to church early you leave church late and you'll see the people that need Minister if you just buzzing and Buzz out. Basically what you're saying is.
I really care about other people's just about me. You show me you show me where Jesus just live for himself.
Texas he said this we do not preacher's house for Christ. Jesus is Lord and our cells is your bond servants or slaves for Jesus said that's true Christianity just add the church into your calendar is not Christianity if that is a false American invented kamata, is it they feel good commodity? That's all it. It's no better than just go to the movies. The Bible is clear there needs to be the insertion of yourself Body Soul and Spirit to the minister of other people and in your giving you will receive a message, but I'm full of those kind of messages.
I've lived in other parts of the world. Where is hell?
In those parts of the world that church is all you got. And the church shines there cuz the Church of Jesus Christ is the realest and the most important in the most beautiful thing on Earth. This church is the most amazing church. I know I've never met a church that when you start from this side and go across you see so much love commitment and help what church can both of single mothers being completely taken care of what church can boast of teens getting scholarships whenever they need it. What church can do these thing? I mean is awesome. So stand up. We're Band of Brothers and Sisters in Christ. We're at War folks. Not with flesh and blood but we're War approved teams are coming. We're going to wage war right now and your life if you need prayer looking to be down here to pray for you. I want you to give as much as you receive. I don't want it for me. I want it for you. I want you to feel what I feel when I give cuz it's better than anything. I've other received other than Jesus. Coola spray father. We thank you for today. We thank you that the church Israel. We think you did the truth is beautiful. We thank you that the truth is powerful. We thank you that your plan is the greatest plan ever revealed to humanity. We think you loved us and you've given us a family to be at brothers and sisters to love children to hell are we thank you for the in Jesus name. Amen.
