indifference because of past failures to be consistent, to do what we know we ought. We must approach prayer with faith, with reverence, somehow maintaining the brightest of optimism because there is no pursuit that contains more opportunity. If we truly believe that God is sovereign and that God is moved by our relational requests (prayer)
REASONS that Professing Believers do not Pray:
While many would say things like we don't pray because we do not plan to", I would back that up and say that we do not plan because it is not a priority and it is not a priority because of a lack of faith in one or both of two things.
1. Lack of Faith in the POWER of God
2. Lack of Faith in the GOODNESS of God towards us.
Main Idea:
In this perhaps more personal discussion than that of , Jesus does not emphasize nearly as much of the HOW and WHAT to pray and instead, He chooses to hone in upon WHY we should Pray and do so consistently.
