Introduction:

How many of you have ever shared the Gospel with someone and been afraid that they would say no? How about, how many of you have shared the Gospel with someone but been afraid the person would say yes to Jesus and you would have to figure out what to do with them?

Maybe you don’t share the gospel because you’re afraid of them saying no or yes. We have various reasons why we disobey the commands of God.

In today’s passage we are going to look at some principals related to repentance and God’s mercy on sinful humans.

I. God’s command requires action.

II. Proclamation precedes repentance.

III. Godly sorrow for sin brings about active repentance.

IV. Repentance involves changing the way you think and act toward sin.

V. God can be trusted to keep his promise of mercy.
