How have you discovered your unique gifts and abilities? What is one thing you are good at?
Can you describe when you’ve had a great experience working in a team?
Read . This weekend we heard about being workers for God. In this passage, identify five reasons that workers join in God’s mission.
- Which reason impacts you the most, and why?
Read . Do you see how Jesus’ mission had two main aspects to it: preaching (word) and healing (power). Read . Notice that the disciples’ mission had the same two aspects, word and power.
- If you’ve been in church for a while, which of these two aspects of mission – word or power - has been emphasized? Discuss possible reasons why.
- What are the strengths / weaknesses of an emphasis on word– speaking about Jesus?
- What are the strengths / weakness of an emphasis on power – demonstrating the power of Jesus?
- Do you think that either word (talking about Jesus) or power ministry (demonstrating Jesus supernaturally) or both are meant to be the role of specialists, or do you think we are all to have a part in each of these, to some extent? Explain.

- What are some of the ways spiritual gifts can be used in the church (i.e. with God’s people – not necessarily just the church building)?
