The Liberation Declaration-Our Call
The Liberation Declaration-Our Call
Next month, the free world will again recall to mind the date, 06 June 1944. A date Allied Forces called D-Day. To Allied military forces, it was code named: “Operation Overlord”. Objectively designed to begin the efforts at rescuing Europe from the evil control of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi third Reich, Allied forces were to land in 5 beachheads in Normandy, France-the primary objective of which was to create a force capable to defend against a German counterattack so that later reinforcements can securely land after a few days and continue the fight towards the liberation of Europe. Operation Overlord was a secret plan. Known only to the main planners—specifics were revealed only hours before confirmation of the operation.

Now, rewind to a couple of thousand years ago, in a synagogue, where a man named Jesus was asked to read the verse of the day. Let’s stand up and read that passage:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”[f]
20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him.21 He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
