Trouble in the Bible - Implication of Lack of Love

a. Within the last few weeks we have looked at incompatibility
1 John 2:15–17 NASB95
15 Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. 17 The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.
1 John 3:4–5 NASB95
4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. 5 You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin.
1 John 3:5–6 NASB95
5 You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. 6 No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him.

1 John 3:7–8 NASB95
7 Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; 8 the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.
1 John 3:
1 John 3:9 NASB95
9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

But Love is Compatible

b. Not vengeance but love as you expect as others to love you.
Leviticus 19:18 NASB95
18 ‘You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the Lord.
Leviticus
With works of Christ (greatest example lay down your life)
John 15:13 NASB95
13 “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.
c. Christs’ love overcomes the works of the devil.
1 John 2:13–14 NASB95
13 I am writing to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I have written to you, children, because you know the Father. 14 I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

a. read - 1 john 3:11-18
a. This is the message .....Love one another
b. In the beginning
1 John 1:1–2 NASB95
1 What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life— 2 and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us—
1 John 2:7–8 NASB95
7 Beloved, I am not writing a new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning; the old commandment is the word which you have heard. 8 On the other hand, I am writing a new commandment to you, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true Light is already shining.

1 john 2:
c.Love your brother.
1 John 3
1 John 3:9–10 NASB95
