TITHE:

Proverbs 3 KJV 1900
1 My son, forget not my law; But let thine heart keep my commandments: 2 For length of days, and long life, And peace, shall they add to thee. 3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: Bind them about thy neck; Write them upon the table of thine heart: 4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding In the sight of God and man. 5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: Fear the Lord, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, And marrow to thy bones. 9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, And with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, And thy presses shall burst out with new wine. 11 My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; Neither be weary of his correction: 12 For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; Even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. 13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, And the man that getteth understanding. 14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, And the gain thereof than fine gold. 15 She is more precious than rubies: And all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. 16 Length of days is in her right hand; And in her left hand riches and honour. 17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace. 18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: And happy is every one that retaineth her. 19 The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; By understanding hath he established the heavens. 20 By his knowledge the depths are broken up, And the clouds drop down the dew. 21 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: Keep sound wisdom and discretion: 22 So shall they be life unto thy soul, And grace to thy neck. 23 Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, And thy foot shall not stumble. 24 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: Yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. 25 Be not afraid of sudden fear, Neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. 26 For the Lord shall be thy confidence, And shall keep thy foot from being taken. 27 Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, When it is in the power of thine hand to do it. 28 Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; When thou hast it by thee. 29 Devise not evil against thy neighbour, Seeing he dwelleth securely by thee. 30 Strive not with a man without cause, If he have done thee no harm. 31 Envy thou not the oppressor, And choose none of his ways. 32 For the froward is abomination to the Lord: But his secret is with the righteous. 33 The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: But he blesseth the habitation of the just. 34 Surely he scorneth the scorners: But he giveth grace unto the lowly. 35 The wise shall inherit glory: But shame shall be the promotion of fools.
Proverbs 3:5–12 NKJV
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. 8 It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones. 9 Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; 10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine. 11 My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; 12 For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.

Genesis 32 KJV 1900
1 And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him. 2 And when Jacob saw them, he said, This is God’s host: and he called the name of that place Mahanaim. 3 And Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother unto the land of Seir, the country of Edom. 4 And he commanded them, saying, Thus shall ye speak unto my lord Esau; Thy servant Jacob saith thus, I have sojourned with Laban, and stayed there until now: 5 And I have oxen, and asses, flocks, and menservants, and womenservants: and I have sent to tell my lord, that I may find grace in thy sight. 6 And the messengers returned to Jacob, saying, We came to thy brother Esau, and also he cometh to meet thee, and four hundred men with him. 7 Then Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed: and he divided the people that was with him, and the flocks, and herds, and the camels, into two bands; 8 And said, If Esau come to the one company, and smite it, then the other company which is left shall escape. 9 And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the Lord which saidst unto me, Return unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee: 10 I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands. 11 Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother with the children. 12 And thou saidst, I will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude. 13 And he lodged there that same night; and took of that which came to his hand a present for Esau his brother; 14 Two hundred she goats, and twenty he goats, two hundred ewes, and twenty rams, 15 Thirty milch camels with their colts, forty kine, and ten bulls, twenty she asses, and ten foals. 16 And he delivered them into the hand of his servants, every drove by themselves; and said unto his servants, Pass over before me, and put a space betwixt drove and drove. 17 And he commanded the foremost, saying, When Esau my brother meeteth thee, and asketh thee, saying, Whose art thou? and whither goest thou? and whose are these before thee? 18 Then thou shalt say, They be thy servant Jacob’s; it is a present sent unto my lord Esau: and, behold, also he is behind us. 19 And so commanded he the second, and the third, and all that followed the droves, saying, On this manner shall ye speak unto Esau, when ye find him. 20 And say ye moreover, Behold, thy servant Jacob is behind us. For he said, I will appease him with the present that goeth before me, and afterward I will see his face; peradventure he will accept of me. 21 So went the present over before him: and himself lodged that night in the company. 22 And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two womenservants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok. 23 And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had. 24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. 25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. 26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. 27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. 28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. 29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there. 30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved. 31 And as he passed over Penuel the sun rose upon him, and he halted upon his thigh. 32 Therefore the children of Israel eat not of the sinew which shrank, which is upon the hollow of the thigh, unto this day: because he touched the hollow of Jacob’s thigh in the sinew that shrank.
Genesis 32:24–30 KJV 1900
IN OUR TEXT WE FIND JACOB WRESTLING WITH THE PRE-INCARNATE CHRIST!
WITH OUT TAKING THE RISK OF ASSUMING EVERY ONE KNOWS!
INCARNADINED MEANS THAT JESUS MADE APPEARANCES ON EARTH BEFORE HE TOOK ON FLESH!
WHEN GOD ORIGINALLY GAVE THIS TO ME I WAS MORE IN THE THOUGHT PROCESS OF JACOB WRESTLING WITH THE LORD WAS SPEAKING OF JACOBS FAITH AND HOW HE STOOD FIRM AND CONTENDED WITH GOD UNTIL GOD BLESSED HIM!
AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT VIEW FOR GOD TELLS US IN THAT WE HAVE A RIGHT TO DO THAT!
Isaiah 43:26 KJV 1900
26 Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: Declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.
BUT THIS MORNING GOD GAVE ME A DIFFERENT AND WHAT I BELIEVE IS A DEEPER VIEW OF THE TEXT!
THE FIGHT WAS THAT JACOB WAS WRESTLING WITH GOD OVER SOMETHING THAT HE HAD ALREADY WON!
JACOB WAS LIKE MANY OF US FIGHTING FOR FAITH NOT FROM FAITH!
LETS LOOK AT THE tEXT.
AND WHAT GOD IS TELLING THE CHURCH IS THAT SOME OF US ARE STILL FIGHTING BATTLES THAT GOD HAS ALREADY WON!
WHEN HE NEEDS US TO PRESS ON AND FIGHT THE NEXT FIGHT!
SO DON’
THAT WHY YOUR IN SO MUCH PAIN!
GOD HAS HAD TO REACH INTO THE HALLOW OF YOUR HEART! SO THAT THE PAIN WOULD ENCOURAGE YOU TO MOVE ONTO WHAT HE HAS FOR YOU!
HE HAD TO REACH INTO THE HOLLOW OF THAT JOB! SO YOU CAN MOVE BY FAITH AND START YOUR OWN BUSINESS
TO HOLLOW OF YOUR FINANCES SO YOU CAN TRUST HIM NOT YOUR PAY CHECK!
