The NT uses a variety of images to explain the meaning of baptism, such as dying and rising with Christ, sharing in his death and being cleansed from sin.

Righteousness of believers
Righteous of believers has the sincere desire to please God by keeping his law is both commanded and approved by him.
However, human fallibility means that righteousness must be the product of the Holy Sprit’s work in the believer.
God requires righteousness of his people
The rights receive blessing from God
The righteous may suffer for their faith
Mt 5:
How to live righteous:
Ro 12:1
Paul in these two verses require 4 things of us in order to live righteous:
Give your devotion, your energy, your thoughts to God
2. Present your bodies to God
Do not be conformed to this world
Be cleansed, transformed
1.First, We must give our devotion, energy, and thoughts to God because of the mercies of God.
Jesus Christ met our desperate need to get right with Him
Provided the power to be set free from the terrible bondages of this life and to live eternally
given the most glorious purpose to life: that of proclaiming the news of God’s Son, of how to be set free from sin and death and to live eternally
Notice the words I beseech you - urge you, beg you - to devote yourselves to God and to do the next three things:
Present your body to God. - Dedication
The one thing upon earth that is abused more than anything else is man’s body.
Man abuse, neglects, and ignores his body by:
overeating
becoming inactive
partaking harmful substances
fight and killing one another
a.
Therefore the believer is to present his body as a living sacrifice to God.
The living sacrifice means:
a constant, continuous sacrifice, continuous sacrifice, not just just occasionally.
(example is you gone make me lose my region today.)
a sacrifice of a person’s body wherever the body is.
(not just in the church house......)
b.
The reasons why the believer is t present his body to God are twofold.
The dedication of the body to God is acceptable to God. the word acceptable means well-pleasing, approving, extremely satisfying to God.
2. The dedication of the body to God is the believer’s reasonable service.
the word reasonable means rational, intelligent, logical.
it is and act of the mind thinking and figuring out what and how to do something.
The word service means worship, and ministry.
The idea is that the believer is to use his mind in dedicating his body to the service of God.
He is to study the Scriptures, and intelligently think about how to best serve God as he walks through life day by day.
2. Don’t be conformed to this world
Conformed comes from the greek root word that means fashion, the outward appearance of a man.
It is the the appearance of a person that changes from day to day and year to year.
the word world in the simplest of terms means the world itself and everything in it, for it is all corruptible.
The world, including the heavens and the earth and everything in it will all someday pass away
So don’t get caught up into wordly things although it may seem that:
it will last forever
it offer the very best of everything: pleasure, enjoyment, happiness, satisfaction.
3. The believer is to be Transformed.
The word transform means the real being of a man.
It is the very nature and essence, the inseparable part, the unchanging shape of a man.
The believer must undergo a radical change within his inner being in order to escape the world and its doom.
The bible declares this is done to the renewing of your mind.
which means made new, readjusted, turned around, regenerated.
Examples: boom box/cassette tapes & the saying been around the block a few times.
The mind is renewed by the presence and and the image of Christ in the life of the believer.
When a person receives the Lord Jesus Christ as His Lord, the man is spritually:
bornagain
made into a new man
given the mind of Christ
changed in the image of Christ
Closing: pleasing the father
Mt 3:1
Fruit tray: strawberries, grapes, oranges, pineapples, canalope, kiwi, black berries, blue berries watermelon.
Cost is the only thing keeping you for enjoying the fruit.
