Ant (the biter) German
Eusocial: cooperative group in which usually one female(queen) and several males(drones) are reproductively active and the non-breeding care for young, forage for food and protect the group or colony. They are described as a super organism because of their unity and support of one another. They have a division of labour amongst themselves. They have the ability to solve complex problems. They are able to communicate among themselves.
Hymenopteran: an order of highly specialized insects with complete metamorphosis that include bees, wasp, ichneumon, sawflies that live in colonies. Only the queen and drones have wings. The metamorphosis of the ant came through flowering plants causing many of them to lose their wings
The size of the colonies range from a few dozen predatory individuals to millions of them covering large territories
They are on almost every continent in the world with exceptions of Antarctica and a few remote islands(Greenland, Iceland) Hawaiian Islands
Their success in so many environments has been attributed to their social organization and ability to modify and adapt to their environment. They will defend and fight
The fight to the death usually
There is estimated 22,000 types of ants

They are flexible and willing to change
They are active year round in many locations and in areas where winter is prevalent they hibernate
Foraging ants can travel up to 700 feet from their nest
