15 *Yet even more so His fame went everywhere. And great crowds came together to hear and to be healed by Him of their infirmities.

16 *But He withdrew to the wilderness and prayed.

15 *Therefore, knowing that they would come and take Him by force to make Him king, Jesus departed again to a mountain by Himself alone.

15 *Yet even more so His fame went everywhere. And great crowds came together to hear and to be healed by Him of their infirmities.

16 *But He withdrew to the wilderness and prayed.

,

12 *In these days He went out to the mountain to pray and continued all night in prayer to God.

13 *When it was day, He called for His disciples, and of them He chose twelve, whom He named apostles:

14 *Simon, whom He named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip and Bartholomew,

15 *and Matthew and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called the Zealot,

16 *and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

what do all of theses verses have in common
silence and aloneness.
Matthew 14:23 MEV
23 When He sent the crowds away, He went up into a mountain by Himself to pray. And when evening came, He was there alone.
So here we see Christ not only finding a “special” place to be alone but sending others away to ensure his uninterrupted solitude but why do we need to be alone to what here are 3 reasons.
(MEV)
10 *Be still and know that I am God;
to be still
I will be exalted among the nations,
Psalm 46:10 MEV
10 Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
I will be exalted in the earth.
why be still, it is hard to be still purposefully it allows us to focus on things other than ourselves.
i have found a many places to do this but find one where you are unlikely to be disturbed by any one or any thing ie social medi
A lack of stimulation allows our conscience (the Holy Spirit) to be the only thing we here.
to be silent
Revelation 3:20 MEV
20 Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me.
to be silent
Luke 9:35–36 MEV
35 A voice came from out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Listen to Him.” 36 When the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. They kept silent and told no one in those days anything they had seen.
when we are silent we can hear the holy spirit, convicting us of our offences and helping us to draw closer to God
silence in your mind, your body and voice and your soul open yourself dont let yourself get distracted.
to hear
Revelation 3:20 MEV
20 Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me.
and hear and this is the most important listen to what God is saying sometimes it is a booming voice from heaven the skies open, a bush burning in the desert, and somtimes it is a still small voice wispering and you have to strain to hear
give the example at the west wall
