Jesus Meets the Woman

Give Me Water

Jesus initiated the conversation asking for
water in this land was a rare commodity
wells are the only place to get, and lugged back home

Jesus promised a spring within her to cleanse for everlasting life
a permanent purifying, cleansing
all water that you can get for yourself is not permanent
you are collecting water in a sieve

Living Water

Psalm 36:8–9 AV
They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
living water is salvation of the soul
Jeremiah 17:13 AV
O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.
Jesus is the only source of this living water
Putting your complete trust in Jesus to save you and take the reigns of your life

Soul Thirst

Psalm 42:1–2 AV
As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
apart from Jesus our soul cannot find happiness
only Jesus can quench the thirst of that deep down desire longing in your soul
we try drugs, alcohol, relationships, new things, but nothing satisfies
though it would, But no
your soul is panting for God, and you are trying to fill it with other

Muddy Waters

John 4 14 a well you can fill in with dirt and never see the water again
a spring you can take a big bucket of water and bury it
next morning up and bubbling again
some people were saved young in their lives but have tried to go their own way. have fun while young
but that water keeps bubbling up and turns your life muddy
let Jesus clean you up and allow that clean bubbly fountain flow out from you again
Conclusion
Jesus Gives is an source of cleansing water
spring of soul satisfying water
an everlasting non stop spring in side of every believer reminding us that we belong to our Savior.
