Submission is an attitude of yielding or surrender. What is your attitude when it comes to submission to those in authority? Do you often choose who you’re going to submit to according to how they treat you or do submit because they are in charge? Submission is a major component of righteous living. If it helps you need to know that the world is watching how we deal with deal with authority especially when we’re suffering.
Why should we live righteously? Peter gives us four actions that tell us why.

Peter says the his readers have been called to righteousness in the face of unjust suffering.
These believers have been called to accept the responsibility of being faithful to God in righteousness through Jesus Christ
Jesus suffered, he endured pain as a model for his followers.
Called to walk in Jesus footsteps.

Jesus demonstrates how we are to follow in his footsteps.
He never acted contrary the will and law of God. He never engaged in wrongdoing, in word or deed.
He never tried to trick people
He didn’t lie nor was he sly.
He wasn’t crafty, shrewd with skilled deception.
When he was insulted with slander, verbally abused
He didn’t respond with verbal abuse.
When he experienced harm or emotional pain
He didn’t utter intentions or promises of injury or punishment against others.
He didn’t utter ultimatums.

Righteousness was bestowed on us by the substitutionary death of Jesus.
He took our sins in his body on the cross on Calvary.
He died on the cross
That they would die to sin. Die to willfully engaging in wrongdoing.
His stripes healed us.

Proper response to righteous will convert your life.
They returned the one who tends to them.
Who feeds them
They returned to
Who guards them
They were wandering away from the path.
Being mislead
Being decieved
moving about aimlessly and without a destination
We have a responsibility to live righteously.
We have been called
We have been shown
It has been giving to us
How will we respond?
