… and what that means is I am well-versed in Disney princess…

… I’ve seen every Disney Princess movie…

… Every Barbie movie…

… Every American girl movie...

… Now, Thankfully, my girls also love Marvel movies so the foo foo scale gets balanced out with

explosions and fight scenes.

- But I say all that to say that last Sunday after church we made the trek over to South Bend to see the new live action Aladdin movie.

… I’ve watched the cartoon Aladdin movie a dozen times with my girls but now Disney figured out a new way to make a lot of money by making live action versions of all of these huge hits.

- I’m not sure how familiar you are with Aladdin, but a couple of times throughout the movie there is a particular phrase Aladdin says when he’s talking to Jasmine...

… One time when they’re running to escape the palace guards

… and another time just before they take their magic carpet ride.

… But both times Aladdin reaches out his hand… looks Jasmine in the eye… and asks this one simple question… DO YOU TRUST ME?

- Now trust is a tricky thing…

… Because most of us are fine trusting as long as things are going the direction we think they should go.

… We’re fine following someone else’s lead as long as they’re leading the direction we want to go…

… the problem comes when that direction goes a way we weren’t planning, or we do not understand.
