Text - (NIV84) “Moses my servant is dead. Now then,
you and all these people get ready to cross the Jordan River
into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites.
Theme – There is a beginning to all things. That beginning can be
Blessed by the Lord or become a problem for those starting
out. We are making a start today. Will we seek the Lord or
run from Him to the world for strength and guidance.

INTRODUCTION

The book of Joshua is unique in its setting and content. The overall message is one of courage and obedience. To put Joshua in its overall setting we must first look at the way the Bible is laid out. The Bible is divided into two parts Old and New Testament. The Old Testament is divided into The Pentateuch - 5 Books of the Law, the 12 books of History Starting with Joshua and ending with Esther, The Books of Poetry, The Major and Minor Prophets or Big books and small ones and The Books of Prophecy.
