The Protection of the Lord

Good Morning, take your Bibles and turn with me to and in one minute we will look at one verse verse 10 .

How many of you have raised teenagers?

God Bless all of ya, I’m telling ya, I used to think my mom was overprotective and always on my case but I am here to tell ya, I think she is a saint now son, because if i have a kid who acted towards me like I acted towards her, I know I would not handle it as well as she did.

I have 4 chances to get a teenager as tough as I was and Lord please don’t let it be so. But right now they are all little, and I have a hard time not worrying about them. I am a little overboard and my wife has to tell me that they will be fine sometimes because I have just seen so much, and it’s my job as a father to protect them you know.

I do man I worry about em, with three boys someone is always hurt, I guarantee every week we come in there is a different one of my boys with a bruise or scrape of some kind, they just being boys but I worry about them.

The kind of world we live in and I know the world has never been perfect I get it, but I did not grow up in a world with same sex marriage. I did not grow up where abortion was so commonplace, I mean of course it was happening, but it was not as accepted as it is now.

Things have happened and are happening so rapidly and you wonder where it is going to be 40 years from now. But I am praying that for the next forty years that God is going to move in a powerful way, and we are going to see the Lord do some great and powerful things in this nation.

I hope you will join me in that prayer.

But I can remember when Grace first came into the world and that first night I sat with Amy having just had a Csection and me not having a clue what I was doing, was doing the best I could for the baby while Amy dealt with the pain of recovery.

I remember Amy had to sleep on the couch, because she couldn’t lay flat because of the incision, she had pushed for several hours, and she had a lot of healing to do.

I remember thinking as Amy settled down on to the couch there was no way my precious wife was gonna lay on this couch, while I slept in a cozy bed after all she went through to have our first child.

So I made a mat on the hard cement floor there in married housing and I laid down on the floor next to her in case she needed anything. I was racked with fear, I did not want anything to happen to that beautiful little baby girl I just brought home.

I had heard about babies who suffocated in their sleep and that thought plagued my mind. I probably checked on that child 15 times before I would eventually lay down to try to get some sleep.

To tell you how afraid I was when I finally did drift off to sleep I had a nightmare Grace my little girl was laying wrong in her bed and couldn’t breathe I could see the bedroom, and it was like I was trying to yell at myself in the dream to wake up and check on the baby.

Then in the dream Amy began to scream for me to get up and get the baby, and then as I started coming out of my deep sleep I realized Amy was calling ym name from the couch next to me, I could hear a faint cry from the bedroom.

I shot up like a rocket and in my sleeper stuper I form tackled a wing back chair and me and the wing back chair ended up at the other end of the hallway, the noise made Grace cream louder and Amy was looking at me like I was insane.

I sat there on the floor trying to figure out what had happened for a minute.

I used to struggle with, what happens if I ruin this childs life, what happens if I mess up and she gets hurt somehow? But one thing happened with grace that veyr night and it is the only thing that has helped me with my worry for my kids.

I walked into the room and changed her and walked her up and down the hall. But when I finally got her back to sleep I opened my Bible that night and it came open to this verse .

Thaat was the night I began to pray for my children.

Gage came same thing, scared, chandler came fear, Noah same thing.

I gave my children to the Lord and still do daily. I read that passage cast you burdens upon the Lord for He cares for you.

Now why do bad things happen to people, even people like Job who prayed? Why do people like that go through the turmoil they went through I dont know, but I believe this, I believe that as parents and grandparents and just Christians, that we ought to pray for the protection of the Lord.

The Authority of Your Protection

As a Christian you are protected by divine authority, and the authority you have is the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Authority is different than power, authority exercizes power but its not the same as power, If you have a man who is going down cottonwood road and he is wearing blue jeans and a tshirt and he tries to stop traffic, how many of you know theres some folks in here that wont stop amen.,

But if you put a police uniform on there and put a gun on his hip, and a badge representing the police of Houston County and thank God for our police men and women. They do a whole lot, and dont get appreciated enough, they are just like teachers, God bless all of em.

But you let that guy go out there with that hat and badge and he holds his hands up and they will back up all the way to malone.

Whats the difference?

The man in the blue jeans had no power you cant physically stop traffic with your hands, ok you are not a super hero, he did not have the power nor authority to do anything to stop the cars, but you let that cop go out there and he doesnt have the power but he carries the authority, He represented a higher pwer and higher authority.

The people seeing that badge thought if I disobey the authority he has I am in deep trouble amen.

When you got saved you became a deputy for Jesus Christ. God deputized you and authorized you WITH THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!

You say whats a strong tower?

It is a safe place, people used to run to these towers when the enemies were coming they would run to the tower, IF I COULD JUST GET TO THE TOWER, IF I COULD JUST GET TO THE WALL THERES PROTECTION, I HAVE PROTECTION INSIDE THAT WALL, listen to me.

THE ONLY PROTECTION YOU AND I HAVE IS THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!

He aint just the one who provides the wall HE IS THE WALL!

He is not just the one who provides the strong tower, HE IS THE STRONG TOWER!!!

The authority of your protection is the name of the LORD IS A STRONG TOWER, there is power in the name of Jesus, there is power in the name of Jesus!!!!

At the name of JEsus darkness flees, at the name of Jesus sin has no power and at the name of Jesus SATAN TUCKS TAIL AND RUNS LIKE A YELLOW BELLIED COWARD!

There is protection in His name JESUS CHRIST IS KING OVER ALL KINGS RULER OVER ALL RULERS, AUTHORITY OVER ALL AUTHORITIES, NO DEVIL, NO DEMON, CAN STAND BEFORE THE LORD.

WHEN THE LORDS PEOPLE STAND AND CRY OUT TO THE LORD WITH THE LORDS NAME AND WITH HIS AUTHORITY THE DEVIL AND EVERY DEMON HAS TO BOW SUBMIT AND SURRENDER.

David said, if I needed shlter from my enemies the only shelter I have is that strong tower to which I run to all the time. David said some of yall think that when I was going up against Goliath NO I WAS IN THE TOWER!!!

Some of yall think that when I battled the Philistine it was just me NO NO NO, I WAS IN THE TOWER!!!

I was in Him and I was safe, I realized that nothing could happen to me when I was in the will of God!

Listen to me if your walking with God nothing can happen to you, if He is your strong tower and nothing can happen to you unless it comes directly from His hand.

Sometimes God allwos bad things to happen to good people and I dont always understand it, but there is always a reaosn higher than ours at work!

The secret things belong to the Lord I DONT KNOW EVERYTHING BUT WHAT I DO KNOW IS GOD KNOWS BEST! GOD IS SOVERIGN AND HE DOESNT CAUSE EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS BUT HE TAKES EVRERYTHING THAT HAPPENS AND HE USES IT TO PERFOMR HIS WILL.

The name of the Lord is our strong tower

You have authority in the name of Jesus that you dont have anywhere else.

My first truck I paid for more than half of it, it was a 1997 Dodge dakota sport had a toolbox and flowmaster exhausts whip antennae cb radio, cd player man that thing was cool.

I went down shopping for the truck at a place where I new the owner hoping to get a deal, I had 4,000 dollars. But I had to finance the rest I had to have that truck I loved it.

I was kind down when I found out that I had to finance the rest and I didn’t have any credit, and as I was walking out dejected, the man told me you know if your mom will cosign, if she will put her name on the rest we will let you buy the truck.

I learned that day, that what wasn’t available in my name, was available in my parents name!

Now I know everyday when I wake up and I cry out to my God I have no collateral in Heaven, Oh but you are a pastor, that doesnt give you any collateral in Heaven.

THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS MY COLLATERAL IN HEAVEN AND I CAN GET THROUGH HIS NAME WHAT I CANT GET FROM MY NAME!

The devil is not impressed by your name or my name. Have you ever heard anybody say IN THE NAME OF clinton, In the NAME OF BUSH, OBAMA, TRUMP come out you demon.

Demons will laugh if you try that, in the name of Johnson, in the name of Graham, Danny Taylor, the demons sit back and laugh but if you say IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST I COMMAND YOU THEN EVERY DEMON IS HELL SHIVERS AND HAS TO OBEY.

I know a name above every name, I know an authority over every authority, you talking about the supreme court theres really only one person sitting in a seat of power and every person on the supreme court is gonna answer to that One seated on the throne.

his name is JEsus Christ not buddah, mohammed, and they will alll stand before Jesus Christ on judgment day.

THE NAME OF THE LORD IS A STRONG TOWER TODAY!

You have an authority you need to start using it.

I hate snakes, one time I was with a friend in highschool and we were out on his property and he was gonna take me hunting, and shoot some skeet.

We were skipping school, I’ll have to tell you the rest of the sotry later, didn’t end well, but were out in the woods and we run up on one of the biggest snakes imaginable.

This dude has a loaded 12 guage shotgun in his hand. He starts yelling SNAKE SNAKE SNAKE!

Now my hunting experience was limited but while He was yelling and looking at me I said SHOOT HIM YOU HAVE A GUN, HE SAID OH YEAH BOOM!

Someone doesn’t like the fact your a Christian and you start saying oh goodness what do I do, oh no!

Thats just as foolish, they dont like you because of your faith you just look at them and say the reason I love the Lord JEsus is because Jesus changed my life. Let me tell ya why I am as messed up as I am.

Aren’t you glad your not defenseless.

How to use Your Protection

Its great to have protection but if you dont use it what does it matter. It’s like having a gun and theres a snake well use the dang gun.

This righteous man is being attacked, some of yall think if I just live for Jesus everybody will leave me alone HA! What are you thinking when you accept Jesus your picking a fight with the devil!

PEOPLE HARRASSED JESUS YOU DONT THINK THEY WILL HARRASS YOU FOR FOLLOWING HIM!

You GOTTA RUN INTO THIS TOWER!!

MAKE USE OF THE NAME

You can’t just stand around and do nothing and expect protection, you gotta run to the Rock that is higher than you! Solomon says they have to reach out and pray for help!

They had to run from their enemy to their high tower who will protect you from your enemies.

Solomon said your my safeplace my strong tower so when I need protection Solomon says instead of living in fear and doubt like I was doing with my children.

FEAR IS NOT JUST BAD IT IS SIN, IT IS THE OPPOSITE OF FAITH!

God has not give you a spirit of fear but of power and love and sound mind.

The devil has 2 primary fangs FEAR and Discouragement

If you look at how many time those two fangs are mentioned together.

How many of you are walking along with God and all of a sudden your captivated by fear. What is that?

An attack from the enemy

What do you do, RUN TO THE NAME OF JESUS!

How can you not run to that tower?

Acts 16:18 HCSB

And she did this for many days. But Paul was greatly aggravated and turning to the spirit, said, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” And it came out right away.

The book of Acts they ran to that tower,

Paul knew there was power in the name of JEsus, you and I need to do the same thing, we need to pray the name of JEsus over our children over our country over our city, over our job, schools, everything around us.

Pray the name of JEsus over it.

Ask God to move in the name of Jesus when you pray the name of JEsus you invite the very Son of God who defeated hell deaht and the grave and sits oon the throne at the right hand of God the Father and when you pray in His name you get that one on your side!

The Assurance of Your Protection

Let’s replace is with I am

AND IM SAFE

Do I know whats going to happen 10 minutes from now I dont. We dont have 5 seconds promised to us. But as long as I live I am going to pray for the protection of JEsus and I believe I will be safer if I do that than if I dont do that

But what about those who are martyred, God sees the big picture, He knows the future as well as He knows the past, as well as He knows the present.

I dont believe one drop of any persons blood who died for Christ has ever been wasted. I believe the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the gospel of JEsus Christ.

He used Pauls sufferign for redemptive acts I dont understand all of that but He knws best.

Whatever is wrong with this world look at mankind. God is moving this whole thing toward HIs desired end.

Well I believed and I prayed and my loved one still died, were they a Christian?

BY HIS STRIPES WE ARE HEALED

That is present that means we are healed totally at conversion, death has no sting we now have inherited life everlasting through the blood fo the Son of God

So why are you telling em this, someone in this room right now is paralized by fear. your not moving in your walk with God because you are afraid.

If I can have enough money to retire then I’ll be at peace, If I can just have all ym children acting how I want them to act Ill be at peace, if I can just get my spouse to act right ill be at peace,

YOUR PEACE IS NOT DETERMINED BY ANYBODY ELSE BUT YOU AND THE LORD!!! YOU CAN BE IN THE WORST CIRCUMSTANCES YOU CAN BE IN A HORRIBLE CIRCUMSTANCE AND BE AT PERFECT PEACE

Isaiah 26:3 ESV

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

Everybody bow your heads and close your eyes with me this morning.

God wants someone to know where there protection lies this morning. It is only found in Jesus Christ.

Facing a Giant this morning?

Why dont you climb inside the strong tower and stay there for awhile.

FIGHT YOUR BATTLES ON YOUR KNEES CRYING OUT TO THE ONE WHO HAS THE AUTHORITY TO TURN YOUR MESS INTO A MINISTRY.
