No, nothing’s in the pipe. I’m not trying to get ahead of the story. I’m not trying to send a covert message. The H.S. gave me an instruction in a way that I don’t usually hear

“now the sons of noah who went out of the ark”
app-the same ones that he’d saved were the same ones that forgot how they’d gotten where they were.
I just want to remind us all of our humanity. But humanity with responsibility.
Today I just want to leave on your mind a few things to consider
“The only person that doesn’t want grace is the one that’s forgotten when they needed it.” I couldn’t agree more.

But, there’s a problem. You can’t move forward in sin, wayward living, reprobate life style, immorality. The problem is that instead of having people around that will help us address our sin, we keep people around us that either let us stay in sin or tell everybody else about what they saw!

I want to talk to the Noah in all of us.
I want to talk to the Noah in all of us.
Now, I want to talk to the ones that will need to cover a Noah.
Q: What do I mean?
It doesn’t take a deep meditative read of this text, you don’t have to read long to see that Noah 1) did something - he got drunk 2) he ended up needing to be covered.
restate. He got drunk, and got naked
7 By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
Heb 11:
for about .100th of a mili second I thought “Did I miss something?” This was the man that God chose start over mankind with…and HE ENDED UP DRUNK!
The Set Up: I knew God was about bless me. How could he still use a man that got drunk. Before he built the boat. Before it started raining. Before he got in w all of the animals, he’d already done it right.
9 This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.
perfect is a form of a Hebrew verb that expresses the action as a unit, or as a complete, total action, regardless of the time of the action in relation to the time of speaking or writing.
Noel D. Osborn and Howard A. Hatton, A Handbook on Exodus, UBS Handbook Series (New York: United Bible Societies, 1999), 929.
before he got drunk, he was already “perfect”
App: He can use you the way you are. I’m not giving you a liscense to sin. I am saying, you don’t send a BMW or Honda or Bently or whatever kind of car to the junk yard just because it needs an oil change!
saw a tshirt that said “I love God, but I cuss a little bit.”
But, THIS text speaks to both of your Noahs!
The word Noah means “the man of the earth.” We really shouldn’t be surprised
Tale of the snake. Snakes bite.
Girl and the Snake
A young girl walking along a mountain path to her grandmother's house heard a rustle at her feet. Looking down, she saw a snake, but before she could react, the snake spoke to her.
"I am about to die," he said. "It's too cold for me up here, and I am freezing. There is no food in these mountains, and I am starving. Please put me under your coat and take me with you."
"No," the girl replied. "I know your kind. You are a rattlesnake. And if I pick you up, you will bite me and your bite is poisonous."
"No, no," the snake said. "If you help me, you will be my best friend. I will treat you differently."
The young girl sat down on a rock for a moment to rest and think things over. She looked at the beautiful markings on the snake and she had to admit he was the most beautiful snake she had ever seen.
Suddenly, she said, "I believe you. I will save you. All living things deserve to be treated with kindness."
She then reached over, put the snake gently under her coat and continued toward her grandmother's house.
Within a moment, she felt a sharp pain in her side. The snake had bitten her!
"How could you do this to me?" she cried. "You promised that you would not bite me, and I trusted you!"
"You knew what I was when you picked me up," he hissed as he slithered away.
Pt: Noah was being what he was.
Noah had the chance to start something new. Understand where the world is. The ENTIRE world was under water. Noah comes out and doesn’t build an altar. he doesn’t give an offering from some of what he had left after the trip. He didn’t take an animal and offer a sacrifice. If he did, it wasn’t significant enough for God to include it into the script. Nah, instead he gets drunk!
Noah teaches us that we need to be careful not to let what’s designed to bless us, be the same thing that burdens us.
20 And Noah began to be a farmer, and he planted a vineyard. 21 Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent.
gn 9:
Noah also teaches us that just because you do it alone, doesn’t mean nobody’ll find out.
Noel D. Osborn and Howard A. Hatton, A Handbook on Exodus, UBS Handbook Series (New York: United Bible Societies, 1999), 929.
Noah also teaches us that just because you do it alone, doesn’t mean nobody’ll find out.
21 Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent.
The old preacher would say “If you’re going to do something, do it by yourself.”
Scripture says else wise:
17 For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light.
Transition: I could see if this was the neighborhood elder, man of noble stature,
Some of the worst hurt will come from those that are closest to you. but when it’s betrayal, when you know better.
He did it to himself. “he became drunk and uncovered himself.”
Here’s the problem. You’ve removed yourself from the text because you’ve never had a son or daughter to betray you. You’ve never had your moment of weakness put on display.
He did it to himself. “he became drunk and uncovered himself.”
A Handbook on Exodus Perfect
perfect is a form of a Hebrew verb that expresses the action as a unit, or as a complete, total action, regardless of the time of the action in relation to the time of speaking or writing.
This text is tailored to teach us prinicple not the paternity.
You can get you in trouble
More Covered Him Than Exposed Him
More Covered Him Than Exposed Him
22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. 23 But Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father’s nakedness.
Take a minute and thank God for the 2 that covered you. When there was only 1. thank God for the 2:1 odds~
The problem is that we’ve been giving the enemy too much power by giving him too much credit.

When you cover, it keeps what’s on the inside from getting outside.
14 Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.
When you cover, it keeps what’s on the outside from getting to what’s on the inside.
When you cover, it keeps what’s on the inside from getting outside.
Your covering shouldn’t only be from who’s not close enough, but it should be to help preserve the dignity of those that behind closed doors.

1 Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the East Gate of the Lord’s house, which faces eastward; and there at the door of the gate were twenty-five men, among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

Question: could we have just diagnosed America in 2019?! At least Noah was passed out to get drunk! We walk around and send it in a text or post it on FB; want to be IG models. Subsequently WE ARE GROWING ORE AND MORE LAZY AND PRODUCING A GENERATION OF MORE LAZY!!!!!!

Then the Lord said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.
genesis 7:7
Genesis 7:7 (NKJV): 7 So Noah, with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives, went into the ark because of the waters of the flood.
Genesis 7:13 (NKJV): 13 On the very same day Noah and Noah’s sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered the ark—
Here we see why the curse for exposing Noah's nakedness was pronounced against Canaan and not upon Ham. The curse upon Canaan means that the people, under that name, who had adopted such corrupt worship, turned themselves away from the Lord and closed all the avenues of Divine influx against the life of heaven. This curse - this closure of the minds of the Canaanites to the Lord, was fully realized in their history as a people; for it was this people with their corrupt worship that were long afterwards destroyed by the Jews when they came into possess the land of Canaan.
It was his own fault that he ended up the way he did…uncovered
