set the stage by reminding them of the table and who is setting at our table

you find sceptics at the well.

why would a jewish man ask a samaritan woman ....

why would God....

Why would you....

What makes a church ......

there are skepics at the well

the skeptic is the skeptic because they dont have all the informatuion (verse 10)

the skeptic is the spetic becase they have been burned before (they have tried Jesus before, They have tried church before, they have prayed before)

the skeptic is lacking an encounter. they go day after day to the same well (they are stuck in a rout)

there is a clash of cultures at the well

Jesus is from Heaven. The woman knows scorn and ostrazation

there are different points of view at the well

give me a drink (faithfilled)

you dont even have a bucket (faithless)

the gospel is for everyone but you have to know who you are

the well is who we are
