Genesis 1:26–31 ESV

26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. John 1:

—> This gets a little complicated and we will talk about the Trinity next week but for now know that God has always been in relationship with God’s self.

—> So then… What does it mean to be made in the Image of God?

—> If we are made in the image of God and as I said God is relationship then we were made to be in community.

—> God immediately creates community.

—> That’s why life is hard when we try to go at it alone.

—> Jesus is tempted when he is alone.

—> Satan attacks us when we are alone.

—> We were built for community.

—> We were made to be caretakers of the earth

—> That’s what God calls you

—> That’s who you were made to be and that’s who we are made to be again in Christ

2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

—> When we say yes to Christ we are saying yes to being who God intended us to be from Creation.

—> We are able to live into our blessing and live into our calling and ordering as very good.

—> Let’s live into that together today, this week, and in this season of our lives.
