So what does it mean to know Jesus is your Christ?

Just finished reading through David’s story...

If I ever think my job can get stressful, I just have to look at David’s life. Messed up! Passionate faith, but terrible parent. Ruthless. Violent. You just didn’t mess with David and those David loved.

He ruled with power, but he was human, and his flaws were real.

For Jesus, we have a man who started a Kingdom based on this ethic:

Blessed are the Poor in Spirit, mourn, meek.

King who ate with sinners and tax-collectors

And then he died- “Jesus, King of the Jews,” fully and completely absorbed the purpose and meaning.

The doctor told my parents that I had a hole in my heart. My heart sounds went lub-dub-swish, lub-dub-swish. When my mom would give me a bath, I would turn blue. The doctor said I shouldn’t go to the church nursery because I might catch a cold or the flu, which would be very dangerous for my little, weak heart…. The doctors decided I needed an operation. One day when I was sleeping in my baby basket, my mom was rocking to some music beside me. She was worried about the next day because we had to go to [the hospital] to visit the heart specialist, who was going to explain how to do the operation. She was watching me sleep, then she stopped rocking, put her hand on my little heart, and prayed. The next day I went to the doctor…When the doctor did the ultrasound, he said, “You have the wrong baby.” My mom said, “No, this is the right baby.” Then the doctor said, “You have the wrong chart.” The nurse said, “No, this is the right chart.” Then the doctor said, “Well, this baby has no hole in her heart. The ultrasound showed a perfect little heart.” My heart sounds were now lub-dub, lub-dub… I am very glad God healed me. On Sunday, in church, I always love to praise, worship, and thank God for all his blessings. Praise the Lord!”
