Hour Of Need
Hour Of Need
(NLT): 26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
For Many years the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and the ministration thereof has been going through a process of disintegration, Certainly not from Gods perspective, but from mans perspective. In particular (Full Gospel churches).
For Many years the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and the ministration thereof has been going through a process of disintegration,
Certainly not from Gods perspective, but from mans perspective. In particular (Full Gospel churches).
Disintegrate =break apart, dissolve, powderize, break up, crumble.
We have reached the place where even within the full Gospel churches of America The Baptism of the Holy Ghost has been reduced to the mere acknowledgement of an indwelling presence of Jesus experienced by all believers.
There is today within the full Gospel churches, not only a depreciation for the gift of tongues as the initial sign and evidence of being spirit filled, There is tremendous opposition against speaking in tongues period.
We are told that it is putting emphasis on the wrong thing and that we are belittling those who do not speak with other tongues.
*If we are going to be new testament believers and followers of Christ then we must do what he told us to do and follow the example given to us by the new testament church.
On the day of Pentecost all that were in the upper room were filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance,
And every occasion after that when they were filled with the Spirit they spoke with other tongues.
When the door of grace opened to the gentile nation, They received this same gift and spoke with other tongues.
Why is this such a big deal? (Speaking with other tongues?)
*Because it the reception and activation of this initial gift of the Holy Ghost that opens the door to the operation and the manifestation of the nine gifts of the Spirit = The supernatural power of God.
(NLT): 26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
Praying in tongues during private devotions is an additional ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Many believers today testify that praying in tongues greatly enriches their spiritual lives.
The limitations of intellect are overcome as the Holy Spirit quickens the human spirit in glorious expressions of worship and adoration.
The quandary of limited vocabulary and the inability to express feelings and concerns of the soul disappear as a Spirit-imparted language flows out from the heart.
It is as if heaven and earth, time and eternity, God and man all compress together in a glorious act of worship
(ESV): 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life
(ESV): But when they believed Philip as he preached good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13 Even Simon himself believed, and after being baptized he continued with Philip. And seeing signs and great miracles performed, he was amazed.
14 Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John, 15 who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, 16 for he had not yet fallen on any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then they laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit
(ESV): The Holy Spirit Falls on the Gentiles
44 While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word. 45 And the believers from among the circumcised who had come with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out even on the Gentiles. 46 For they were hearing them speaking in tongues and extolling God
(ESV): As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as on us at the beginning. 16 And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit
(ESV): And after there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. 8 And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us, 9 and he made no distinction between us and them, having cleansed their hearts by faith
The Holy Ghost in you by virtue of The baptism in the Holy Ghost is the river of , that brings life every where it flows, But it is through the nine gifts of the spirit that this river travels and extends itself .
(NLT)
Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’ ”
Tyndale House Publishers. (2013). Holy Bible: New Living Translation (). Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale House Publishers. (NLT)
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39 (When he said “living water,” he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into his glory.)
39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
Notice there are no rivers until we receive the Holy Spirit.
* It is impossible for us as believers to experience the full free abundant life that Jesus came to give us without the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
* It is impossible for us as believers to bring the blessings of the supernatural power of God into contact with mens needs without the gifts of the Spirit.
*Jesus in You is a blessing to you
*But it’s Jesus flowing out of You through the gifts of the Spirit, that make you a blessing to others.
Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
We must come back to the original purpose and power of the giving of the Holy Ghost,
*He is to first be in us as helper, teacher, comforter, illuminator, counselor, friend, power to live a holy life.
*Then he is to flow out of us by virtue of the gifts of the spirit to bring salvation, healing, deliverance, miracles, signs and wonders, To set people free,
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, (because) he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,
that the blind will see,
that the oppressed will be set free,
*How did Jesus do those things?
By the gifts of the spirit:
every blind eye opened, every demon cast out, every miracle, every sign, every wonder, every sick body he healed, The feeding the multitudes, the walking on water, the calming the storm with his word, The raising lazarus from the dead, was all one or more of the gifts of the spirit at work in his life.
We are called to be the Church, The New Testament Church. However we will fail to fulfill the call to Be the church if we refuse to accept the conditions that Jesus set for us.
What condition???
“A NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH”
“Is a Spirit Filled Church”
A New Testament church is a church filled with Power.
Pentecost marked the introduction of the new testament of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The New Testament = Life lived in the power of the spirit. = Having the inner power to live the life that pleases God.
And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.
( ) And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
As Moses ratified the old testament with blood. So also Jesus ratified the new testament with his own blood. ( His blood is the signature that Life in the power of the Spirit is now available to everyone who will receive it.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
() But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Every professing Christian should be experiencing the spirit filled Life.
Jesus didn’t shed his blood just to save you from your sins. That blood is the introduction into the life of the spirit.
: Tells of the cleansing of the leper. Leprosy = type of sin.
The blood of the trespass offering was applied to his right ear, right thumb, and right big toe. Then the oil was applied on top of the blood.
This is symbolic of how the blood prepares us for the anointing.
*How it must grieve the Father and the son and the Holy Spirit, for us to stop short of what he paid so high a price for us to have.
To be filled with the Spirit was not a mere suggestion, but rather a command to his disciples, Which we are if we continue in his word.
And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.”
( ) And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
( ) And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. 18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. 20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
The will of God is that you be filled with the Spirit.
*The will of God is actually that we become the channels through which his spirit flows
Its His will That we become ministers of that anointing.
() Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God. 6 He has enabled us to be ministers of his new covenant. This is a covenant not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old written covenant ends in death; but under the new covenant, the Spirit gives life.
again
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! 38 Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’ ” 39 (When he said “living water,” he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into his glory.)
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
In We find the picture of the New Testament Church.
7 So I spoke this message, just as he told me. Suddenly as I spoke, there was a rattling noise all across the valley. The bones of each body came together and attached themselves as complete skeletons. 8 Then as I watched, muscles and flesh formed over the bones. Then skin formed to cover their bodies, but they still had no breath in them.
9 Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to the winds, son of man. Speak a prophetic message and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, O breath, from the four winds! Breathe into these dead bodies so they may live again.’ ”
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.
10 So I spoke the message as he commanded me, and breath came into their bodies. They all came to life and stood up on their feet—a great army.
8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.
9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.
10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
*Notice: Everything from a natural standpoint may be perfect, but from God’s perspective it is dead until the Spirit has come upon and into. It is the Spirit that turns these bones into an army.
Ezekiel was operating in a new testament anointing, he was bringing the life of God to the dead bones.
*The great need of this hour is The church to be revisited with New Testament Power and Anointing.
And the church needs to revisit Jerusalem.
*Jerusalem = the place of divine desperation, and dependance.
() I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
() I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am—so much greater that I’m not worthy even to be his slave and carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. 12 He is ready to separate the chaff from the wheat with his winnowing fork. Then he will clean up the threshing area, gathering the wheat into his barn but burning the chaff with never-ending fire.”

12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
*If we want to see new testament results, we must receive new testament power.
