10 Then said Saul to his servant, †Well said; come, let us go. So they went unto the city where the man of God was. 11 And as they went up †the hill to the city, they found nyoung maidens going out to draw water, and said unto them, Is the seer here? 12 And they answered them, and said, He is; behold, he is before you: make haste now, for he came to day to the city; for there is a ||sacrifice of the people to day in othe high place: 13 As soon as ye be come into the city, ye shall straightway find him, before he go up to othe high place to eat: for the people will not eat until he come, because he doth bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that be bidden. Now therefore get you up; for about †this time ye shall find him. 14 And they went up into the city: and when they were come into the city, behold, Samuel came out against them, for to go up to the high place.

15 pNow the LORD had †told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying, 16 To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and qthou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have rlooked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.

Chapter 9:10-16
Saul begins to converse with Samuel in regards to the tribe of Benjamin being one of the least tribes of Israel. What he didn’t realize is there was a God who could take little and make it great!
As the conversation comes to a close Samuel tells Saul to send his servant ahead and then gives specific direction.

5 After that thou shalt come to hthe hill of God, where is the igarrison of the Philistines: and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down kfrom the high place with a psaltery, and a ltabret, and a pipe, and a lharp, before them; and they shall prophesy: 6 And mthe Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and nthou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.

Chapter 10:5-6

9 And it was so, that when he had turned his †back to go from Samuel, God †gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day. 10 And swhen they came thither to the hill, behold, ta company of prophets met him; and uthe Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them. 11 And it came to pass, when all that knew him beforetime saw that, behold, he prophesied among the prophets, then the people said †one to another, What is this that is come unto the son of Kish? vIs Saul also among the prophets?

Chapter 10:9-11
Tonight, with the help of the Lord I would like to preach:
“Girt About Yourself The Mantle of Faith”
Pastor Noles could you pray before we get into the Word
You see the Children of Israel hit a critical moment in History at the writing of 1 Samuel. They left the era of judges and went to the area of kings. You see, the people desired to have a ruler over them and wanted to be like every other nation, but God had until that time been seen as their king and ruler.
Samuel warned Israel of the consequence of following the worlds ways and described how the king would take their goods and make them servants of his biding. The people didn’t care, they wanted to be seen as equals among the world.
The problem was Israel was never to be seen as equal
For their God was greater than the nations
Compare this to the Church today
God still decides to grant the people of Israel a Captain or king. That king was chosen from the tribe of Benjamin, the smallest tribe of the 12.
To many times we find ourselves neglecting the little things of God…to many times we fail to see that little things become greater things!
Brother Noles, remember all those little times of practicing for hours when you played in band? For a goal, such as becoming second chair, it meaningless. For a musician of the Lord it must be their heart beat. They are not playing for glory, but to glorify the king of kings. Give your passion to the King of Kings!
What I would like to draw your attention to is this:
10 And when they came thither to the hill, behold, ta company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.

When the Spirit of God dwells near, even kings of the earth can prophesy.

Saul separated himself from his friends, his family, all to locate a few donkeys that had been lost. All this trouble led him on a journey that intertwined him with Samuel and put him among the school or company of prophets.
What we fail to realize is Saul partook of a heavenly parade for the King of Kings. The Lord of Lords came upon him for others to say, “is Saul among the prophets?”
You see Saul took the first step of walking with God. He forsook his ephod of righteous indignation and put on the mantle of faith!

The Power of Your Company

It wasn’t until faith drove a man to prophesy by the voice of God that Saul could undertake the beginning actions to becoming a king. He was anointed by a the prophet and then anointed by God’s Spirit. It wasn’t one experience with the man of God that allowed the power of the anointing to manifest but it took several experiences.
The problem is we want it all in one service
Maybe you should just keep coming back for more?
Let me give you a biblical definition of Faith. Lets get back to faith!

11 Now faith is the ||substance of things hoped for, athe evidence of bthings not seen.

Heb 11:1
To many times people want to see God manifest before we believe in him. We lack faith, but when we put on the mantle of faith and trust that God will do what he said he will do.. We put on the anointing of God unto deliverance.
The first step in becoming a child of God is believing or having faith in him. I believe God exist; thus, one could argue that faith is the pillar everything God builds his prophet or chosen one on.
You see it was the one who wore the mantle that anointed Saul to be king. Saul failed to find his identity in God. Even when he was to be anointed king of Israel, he hid like a coward!
What is worse is Saul began to ignore the voice of the Man of God within his life and even turned over to a medium to lead him to victory.
Anointing will always require a mantle that is manifested with faith!

The Fruit and the Gifts Cannot Manifest Without the Mantle of Faith

The High Priest’s Ephod:

31 And bthou shalt make the robe of the ephod all of blue. 32 And there shall be an hole in the top of it, in the midst thereof: it shall have a binding of woven work round about the hole of it, as it were the hole of an habergeon, cthat it be not rent. 33 And beneath upon the ||hem of it thou shalt make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, round about the hem thereof; and bells of gold between them round about: 34 A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe round about. 35 dAnd it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before the LORD, and when he cometh out, that he die not.

Let me draw your attention to the 9 fruits and 9 gifts:
fruits -
1. love
2. joy
3. peace
4. longsuffering
5. kindness
6. goodness
7. faithfulness
8. gentleness
9. self-control
gifts -
1. The Word of Knowledge 2. The Word of Wisdom 3. The Gift of Prophecy 4. The Gift of Faith 5. The Gifts of Healings 6. The Working of Miracles 7. The Discerning of Spirits 8. Different Kinds of Tongues 9. The Interpretation of Tongues
Let’s get this right, the gifts and the fruits tell us that ministry is still being taken place according to Exodus. The high priest had to have faith in God or a mantle which everything hung.
PUT ON YOUR MANTLE OF FAITH TODAY AND SEE WHAT GOD WILL DO
God desires to call more prophets into his band of ministry, but we must first ask ourselves do I trust him? Do I have passion to better know Him? Do I give him all my worship and praise?
Opening the Alters (HAVE KASEY PLAY SOMETHING UPBEAT):
Those who feel a call to ministry pray for purpose
Get a hold of God today…LET HIM GO TO WAR FOR YOU
We fight by our praise!
Whatever God puts on your heart just let it out
If he says dance, just do so!
