Inheritance
The words often translated “inherit” mean more generally “take possession.”1

For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect,
Why is the promise of no effect?
Not because of sin
Trust right living - because of this God will bless me
Why do I need faith when you have earned it
“So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel,
and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
When you are an heir, you don’t work for your inheritance. You just meet with the attorney and ask them what is your portion.

this promise doesn’t come through working for it.
This is what a lot of people preach today; that your blessings come through working for it or keeping the rules
it’s by undeserved favor
