Church discipline gets to the heart of the question. Are we to live as Christians on our own? Do our obligation to one another only involve encouraging one another positively? Or do they include a responsibility to speak honestly to each other's faults, shortcomings, departures from Scripture or specific sins? Does our responsibilities before God ever include making such matters public?
So as we have done previously, we are going to look at some questions this morning. Is all church discipline negative, what is it, What does the Bible say about it, how have past Christians handled it, would our Church ever do such a thing, why we should practice it, and what happens if we refuse.
