Matthew 4:12–20 “12 When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he left Judea and returned to Galilee. 13 He went first to Nazareth, then left there and moved to Capernaum, beside the Sea of Galilee, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali. 14 This fulfilled what God said through the prophet Isaiah: 15 “In the land of Zebulun and of Naphtali, beside the sea, beyond the Jordan River, in Galilee where so many Gentiles live, 16 the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light. And for those who lived in the land where death casts its shadow, a light has shined.” 17 From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.” 18 One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers—Simon, also called Peter, and Andrew—throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living. 19 Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” 20 And they left their nets at once and followed him.”
Good morning to you all again. We are going to be talking about our Jesus this morning, our dedication or lack of dedication in our daily life, our daily choices.

Our ego keeps us from giving all decisions to Jesus don’t you think? We love to take charge, we love to be in control during our day don’t we? The minute stuff starts getting really tough, we then “think” of talking to Jesus. But first we text or call a friend don’t we?

The gospel is the good news of salvation. It is first mentioned in Matthew 4:23, as _____just read “Jesus went about—preaching the gospel.” It is last mentioned in Revelation 14:6. Power in the gospel to save, keep, heal and satisfy is ours for simply believing.

Revelation 3:15–17 “15 “I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! 16 But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth! 17 You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.

So here, Jesus is telling us to “make up our minds” My Dad used to say, Go do something, even if it’s wrong. Now don’t do that but we need to be getting with our decision making with Jesus at the wheel don’t we?

Can’t you just hear this? “__________Why are you not telling others about me? Why do you shy away when my name comes up? Why do you act like you don’t know me when you know how I love you?

Romans 1:3–4 3 “The Good News is about his Son. In his earthly life he was born into King David’s family line, 4 and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord.”

What Impact can we have When we are converted? We are commanded to share the good news of Jesus. Verses 5-6 explains this very clearly!

5 “Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name. 6 And you are included among those Gentiles who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ.”

We get consumed by stuff don’t we? We get so involved in some projects that we completely forget about Jesus. We forget to pray, to ask for guidance, to ask for clarity, to ask God to open our ears to listen for His will. Can’t you imaging asking Jesus and the Holy Spirit in pray about ALL things that are going on in our lives?

Parking spaces, that’s a big one for me! Where to eat lunch, calling someone when the Spirit puts them on our hearts.

Truth is, we have an advocate that will guide us in all things we need and want to do in life. We don’t ask and when we do we don’t trust or have faith in Jesus do we?

Paul was pleased with the renowned faith of the Roman Christians. Verse 8 “ Let me say first that I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith in him is being talked about all over the world.

When you love someone, don’t you pray for them? YES! Paul prayed for their needs and for an opportunity to visit them. 9 “God knows how often I pray for you. Day and night I bring you and your needs in prayer to God, whom I serve with all my heart by spreading the Good News about his Son.”

Paul wants to see them so much. He wanted to impart spiritual blessings, to establish and encourage them in the Lord. 11 “For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord. 12 When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.”

Do I (Pastor Greg) sound like Paul at times? 13 “I want you to know, dear brothers and sisters, that I planned many times to visit you, but I was prevented until now. I want to work among you and see spiritual fruit, just as I have seen among other Gentiles.”

be “PARDONED,” “FORGIVEN,” “GONE” AMEN!—17 “This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 Again Paul tells us:
“8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.”

After we experience the power of the gospel, we should share it. We are commanded as Christians to go into all the world and preach the gospel—Mark 16:15. If we are ashamed of our gospel, we will hide it from those who are lost—2 Cor. 4:3. Paul was not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.
