What word would you use to describe the perfect father?
Audience feedback
When we talk about God, it is very important to understand that God calls Himself Father.
Both in the Old Testament and in the New testament.
Isaiah 63:16 NASB95
For You are our Father, though Abraham does not know us And Israel does not recognize us. You, O Lord, are our Father, Our Redeemer from of old is Your name.
Jesus the son of God. Calls God Father
John 5:17 NASB95
But He answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working.”
Jesus tells us to call God Father
John 5:17
Matthew 6:9–13 NASB95
“Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. ‘Give us this day our daily bread. ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’
Matthew 6:9-13
Father God is the perfect father.
Have you ever thought about the dynamics of the relationship between Father God and the Son of God Jesus
John 1:1 NASB95
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 10:30 NASB95
“I and the Father are one.”
John 6:44 NASB95
“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.
John 16:26 NASB95
“In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I will request of the Father on your behalf;
John
John 16:28 NASB95
“I came forth from the Father and have come into the world; I am leaving the world again and going to the Father.”
John 6:38 NASB95
“For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.
John 14:31 NASB95
but so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go from here.
John 5:19 NASB95
Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.
John 14:28 NASB95
“You heard that I said to you, ‘I go away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
John 8:49 NASB95
Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me.

even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.
John
John 15:10 NASB95
“If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
Jesus obeyed the father.
Today many Christians have this thought.
What is God doing for me!
That’s not at all what Jesus demonstrated. Jesus obeyed the Fathers Will
we can learn from that!
Did Jesus want to die for our sins? His humanity said no!
Matthew 26:39 NASB95
And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.”
But His obedience to the will of the father said Yes
Today many Christians have this thought. What is God doing for me!
That’s not at all what Jesus demonstrated. Jesus obeyed the Fathers
And when we look at How God cared for Jesus we get insights on how a Father should act

Story of the Prodigal son!
Luke 15:11–17 NASB95
And He said, “A man had two sons. “The younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of the estate that falls to me.’ So he divided his wealth between them. “And not many days later, the younger son gathered everything together and went on a journey into a distant country, and there he squandered his estate with loose living. “Now when he had spent everything, a severe famine occurred in that country, and he began to be impoverished. “So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. “And he would have gladly filled his stomach with the pods that the swine were eating, and no one was giving anything to him. “But when he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired men have more than enough bread, but I am dying here with hunger!
Luke 15:11–32 NASB95
‘I will get up and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me as one of your hired men.” ’ “So he got up and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. “And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ “But the father said to his slaves, ‘Quickly bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet; and bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat and celebrate; for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.’ And they began to celebrate. “Now his older son was in the field, and when he came and approached the house, he heard music and dancing. “And he summoned one of the servants and began inquiring what these things could be. “And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has received him back safe and sound.’ “But he became angry and was not willing to go in; and his father came out and began pleading with him. “But he answered and said to his father, ‘Look! For so many years I have been serving you and I have never neglected a command of yours; and yet you have never given me a young goat, so that I might celebrate with my friends; but when this son of yours came, who has devoured your wealth with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him.’ “And he said to him, ‘Son, you have always been with me, and all that is mine is yours. ‘But we had to celebrate and rejoice, for this brother of yours was dead and has begun to live, and was lost and has been found.’ ”
