Suffering is unique to this life!
There’s no suffering in heaven nor in eternity.
Hebrews 5:5–14 NKJV
5 So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him: “You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.” 6 As He also says in another place: “You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek”; 7 who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, 8 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. 9 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, 10 called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek,” 11 of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Hebrews 5:5-
God’s process is, is to grow you through your life experiences!\
Jesus Himself came here to *learn* obedience!!!
Obeying Him is not automatic nor is it our natural inclination.
Don’t waste your suffering!
Don’t waste your lonely times, your confused times, or your tears. When God asks you to give something up, don’t waste that struggle you have with it!
Recognize all of those situations and feelings are unique to this life, and
all you have to do is trust Him. That’s really it.
If He’s real, that means He designed the universe and your body, so He can design the situation you’re in. If He’s real, why not go all the way and trust Him completely?
Hebrews 6:1–3 NKJV
1 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3 And this we will do if God permits.
Hebrews 6:
Let us go on to perfection? Surely that’s wrong, right?
Ephesians 4:11–15 NKJV
11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—
God is always working on you!
If you’re His child, He *wants* you to go through hard things because it perfects you! He knows it’s hard, but He’s also with you! He’s seeing you through it, and He wants what’s best for you EVEN MORE THAN YOU DO!!!!
Do you trust His process or not?! Jesus did.
When you go through something, He’s not mad at you! He’s actually trying to make you perfect! More and more like Christ through every situation! LET HIM DO IT!
He’s trying to make us perfect, and our response is to fight Him every step of the way. GET OUT OF THE WAY, TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF THAT SITUATION, AND LET HIM WORK!
Romans 5:15–17 NKJV
15 But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. 16 And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. 17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)
God is teaching you to reign, now!
But the most important thing you have to reign over, is yourself.
Mark 8:34–38 NKJV
34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”

Reigning over yourself, is how we “move on to perfection”
Reigning over yourself, is how we “move on to perfection”
He doesn’t hate you, He hasn’t abandoned you, you haven’t done anything wrong, HE’S TRYING TO ACTUALLY PERFECT YOU!!! His plan and ways are higher than yours and perfection definitely qualifies.
He’s using something that could ONLY HAPPEN in this life, to grow you and make you more like Him!
Like it or not, you were born into a corrupt body that loves sin and will fight your desire for God your entire life.
Like it or not, the people around you love sin and hate it when you try to live right with God because it makes them feel bad!
Like it or not, the enemy wants to snare you like a hunter, and you have to live diligently.
We’re *called* to take up our cross and follow Him! We’re *called* to crucify our flesh with it’s passions and desires !
Why would God want us to reign over ourselves?
Someone who learns to reign over themselves, can be trusted.
Someone who reigns over themselves, can reign over bigger things.
He’s preparing us for eternity!!!
When you’re going through something, remember God is moving you up!
Rededicate your trust in Him EVERY DAY!
He’s teaching you to reign over your emotions
(crucified flesh with it’s passions and desires)
to reign over what other people think of you,
to reign over fear,
we walk by faith not by sight!
If you make decisions based on fear, you are *not* reigning over it.
reign over temptation!
This happens by letting His power work in you
None of those have anything to do with the world or other people. They’re all just inside your head! God wants you to reign over yourself first.
