Divide group into 3 teams

On go, each team will race to put their puzzle together before the others. First team to finish their puzzle wins.

Q5: What is one right that is only for US citizens:

TRANSITION: Did you do need to do any of these things in order to become a US citizen?

Odds are, the answer is “NO”

Why? Because most, if not all of you, became US citizens from something that happened to you, not by you.

You were either born inside the United States OR

You were born to US citizens.

TRANSITION: This is how you and I become citizens of God’s Kingdom

God, in His mercy, MADE you a citizen of the Kingdom.

Now, as a part of His Kingdom, what does it mean to be a follower of Jesus?

What are the “pieces” of being a citizen of God’s Kingdom?

1. Following Jesus means joining his mission. (v.7)

Jesus calls his disciples to himself, but not so they could just hang out and have a good time.

Jesus had a specific reason for calling his disciples, and that was so that he could send them out.

If you look very closely at what the text says, it says very explicitly that Jesus chose the 12 to be with him AND to send them out to preach.
